Hi Cosmo and Co.
I am writing to report that I have not received this order in the mail yet. However, I am not asking for it to be re-sent just as of yet. Nevertheless, I want to apprise you of the situation. It's a little more involved than the package just not showing up.. and I want to be fair to Paizo.
As of right now, Paizo has my correct address in Ontario Oregon.
On May 5th, I got the e-mail stating that my order had shipped granting me access to the PDFs for Order #1172810. At that time, my address was still in Louisville KY. I knew that I was moving to Oregon, but we didn't have a specific address. We were waiting to see if an offer to rent the house would be accepted. Our offer was to rent the house for two months while we got settled, transfered our assets, and arranged for a morgage to buy the house full stop. We couldn't actually use this new address until the offer had been accepted.
On May the 8th, we received word that our offer on the house had been accepted, and then I submitted a change of address with the USPS. Coincidentally, that was the day we had to move out of our apartment, because of my wife's new job start date the following week. I didn't update my address with Paizo on the 8th for two reasons. First, I thought it was too late anyway, having received the PDFs three days prior. Secondly, because that was the day (the 8th) that we literally moved out of our apartment and drove out of Louisville for good- so my computer was packed up and I had very little spare time.
But I thought that would be all okay anyway.. My assumption was that the change of address would just forward my books to my new address.
Unfortunately, as of June the 3rd, I haven't gotten them yet. I was also a little chagrined to realize that the books didn't ship until May the 11th, and there might have been time to update my address and had them shipped to the new address. I just never thought there would have been time after I'd already gotten the PDFS so much earlier. Also, speaking candidly, after May the 8th I was driving across country from Motel to Motel till we got to Oregon. I didn't think to check my Order History during that time or might have caught it and phoned the new address before it left the warehouse.
As of now.. I'm hoping that the books will still arrive. After all it takes some time to go from Washington to Kentucky and bounce back to Oregon. On the other hand it's been 23 days so far.
I have called the USPS asking if there would be any special rules concerning the forwarding of my books, or if they were being held in Louisville untill I paid additional postage. I haven't heard back from them but I have a confirmation number on my request for information and plan on calling them again on Thursday.
I don't hold Paizo responsible. My books have always arrived like clockwork before. It was a complicated situation and a complicated move, without a lot of details available to any party until the last minute. If the offer on the house had not been accepted, we would have been living in a motel until we could have found arrangements. Moving across country is trickier than within state, especially when someone has to report to work the next week.
However, I am explaining the situation so Paizo can at least be aware of it. One can't help, unless people ask for help.
My plan is to wait and hope the books arrive this Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. If they don't, I'll let you know Monday the 8th. If do arrive, I'll let you know that as well too.
You might be unable to help in any case, but it never hurts to at least make a vendor aware of the situation.

We do not mark packages with "Return Service Requested" so your order is most likely traversing the labyrinthine mail forwarding process at the moment. I have the same answer for you that I had for thefishcometh:
Let's give it another week. If it hasn't shown up by the end of next week, I'll put replacements in with your next shipment.
Worry not, sir... I will make sure that you get your books, one way or another. :)
thanks,
cos

I was also a little chagrined to realize that the books didn't ship until May the 11th, and there might have been time to update my address and had them shipped to the new address. I just never thought there would have been time after I'd already gotten the PDFS so much earlier.
There probably wasn't time. To expedite our shipping process, we print all of the labels on the same day—which is when you get your PDF—and those labels get attached to packages over the next few days. We don't record the actual departure date of each package; instead, we select the date by which we're confident that the *last* subscription package will leave, and that becomes the "shipped by" date for all subscribers. In this case, we printed your label on May 5, with the expectation that most packages would go out within four business days; because of the weekend in there, that brings us to May 11.
So, your order actually was processed when you got the PDF on May 5; any changes made after that wouldn't have been in time. Further, your books *probably* left on May 6, 7, or 8; only a few stragglers would have actually gone out on the May 11.

Thanks for the further explanation.
It hasn't come as of today, but I am happy to wait a full week from Cosmo's posting.
(Or even more if necessary.. I DO have the PDFs and I'm in a strange new town with no gamers that I know of.. so it's not like I'm in a rush or anything. I'm not sure anybody in this town games at all, I might have to commute to Boise to find some.)
In any case, the promise of help, if absolutely necessary, gives me patience as well as gratitude.

Cosmo and Vic,
Just an update, as of today's date I still haven't gotten my books yet.
However, I think there is cause to hold out for a few more days. Here's why:
For similiar reasons, my Netflix shipped out on May 15th, and it only just arrived here today. I had it on hold but actually forgot to change it when I arrived and it didn't catch it until I got the e-mail. Now the Pathfinder books had a couple days headstart, sure. But my Netflix distribution center was right in Louisville, so it customarily is delivered to the Louisville address the next day after it ships.
That's a good indication to me that the Pathfinder books may just very well take that long to be forwarded. They had to go from Washington to Kentucky and back to Oregon.
Even with a headstart, I can see the Netflix arriving before them, because they went from Louisville to Louisville to Oregon.
I'm guessing they might arrive in the next few days.
I know my next shipment has been flagged to go in the next few week, but if we can hold out a few, they might just show up.

Cosmo,
I received my new order and the replacement books. I wanted to thank you for your outstanding customer service.
Vic, Lisa, Erik
I don't know if Paizo employees receive routine employee evaluations, but I'd like to offer this as a customer compliment to Cosmo.. for his next review.
His cheerful attitude and willingness to help are part of why I remain a regular Paizo Direct Customer, rather than using a warehouse service like Amazon.com.
(That's not a denigration to those that do, but I'm underscoring that a PDF copy of my book is not the sole reason I would do business with a company)
I like to do business with good people, and Cosmo represents Paizo admirably.
