So basically yeah your "wizard" controls half the island maybe the island could be something like two half circle's separated by a bridge to a middle island then another bridge to the other half
half circle, bridge to middle section, bridge to other half circle.
the wizards have agreed to play around with one half each before the pc's finally get organised enough to head for the middle where there are more traps waiting for them and eventually the pc's might find a way to get to the wizards and kill them hows that sound?

We could have scrolls around the island, in key locations (1 for each PC), envelopes with their name on it. Instructions for something they have to do in order to get to the central island. Eventually (if they're smart enough), the PCs will figure out that each obstacle works together with another PCs "task". Say player-x has to go find the 'severed monkey hand of kerbil', and then somewhere along the way, player-y has to use the hand for something else.

If I play a druid, can I have an animal companion? And can I try using this?
Druid
The druid might choose to give up her wild shape ability in exchange for becoming a swift and deadly hunter.Gain
Bonus to Armor Class when unarmored (as monk, including Wisdom bonus to AC), fast movement (as monk), favored enemy (as ranger), swift tracker (as ranger), Track feat (as ranger).Lose
Armor and shield proficiency, wild shape (all versions).
I'd even give up my animal companion to use it, and take aberrations as my favored enemy.

anyway one of the wizards is a drow necromancer and he has decided to place various undead and interesting cold traps on his side including setting of various darkness clouds around the island. his apprentice might remain on the island to keep the undead going and making sure nothing goes wrong she might will have a way off the island back to him so if the pc's kill her they can reach the wizards sound good?

My group will probably start out in some underground complex, which was part of another location transplanted (thinking a section of dungeonaday.com, just so I don't have to come up with a map of my own). The cult leader knew that he was going to be transplanted, and has access to a magical portal which leads over to the other island(?). Alternately, he has a portal back to the wizards' lair.
Might be easier just to email/IM each other. yahoo: tommybouy1976@yahoo.com, MSN: tomthiessen666@hotmail.com, gmail: thiessentom0@gmail.com

One thing I have found with battle royals is that certain classes can dominate others (wizards can't compete HP, fighters can not compete in mass damage etc. ) In this, maybe we can split the PCs based on classes: Arcane, Divine, Martial? That way they will have a couple of levels before they meet each other.
Also calling it a battle royal is asking them to attack each other, if you plan for more cooperation being necessary we will have to spell it out at the beginning.
If we can find three wizard avatars it would be cool (especially if they were the same except for colors or noses or something. *grin*

Curaigh and thomas
there is an island something like this
My section of the island will be the highest point on the island very rocky icy with some snow, Thomas's section a lower down point with a thick Forest infested with dinosaurs, and Curaigh's sunken city could be just next to the island (i really like he idea cause the pc's could have to move between air pockets etc..)
As for it beeing mroe about teamwork, No not realy my section doesn't relay on them getting along the player's decide how the game turns out not us, if my player's want to work together to get off the island and kill the evil wizard's they can if the player's think it more beneficial to kill each other they can, so it's not very strict i hope you two will make yours the same?
As for wizard avatars mine is not going to be the classical human wizard No She is going to be, A drow vampire, the leader of the group of three wizard's and the one who came up with the undead section of the island.

OK EVERYONE
One of my assistant's (Curaigh) Suggested we tie the start of the thing to Paizocon Maybe even make it a bigger event and take on more people
aaaaand a recap of the general idea
The pc's (YOU) Have been captured in various ways (all you have to do is a small background maybe. and I will tell you how you were captured) And placed in various places on a far out island that wasn't known to exist until now, You might wake up ankle deep in soft snow, or leaning against a prickly tree, or maybe even waist deep in murky water...
Will YOU try and befriend the people around you and work together to get food warmth and eventually even escape the island? or Will you fight the other people for there weapons and food?
As you fight (or befriend) the others you will certainly grow in power maybe even enough to get off the wretched island and get revenge on the bastards who placed you there!!!
Will you survive the isle of Torment?
Join up today (lol!)

A drowned skeleton or some such, and a couple swimming dinos. Not needed, but just thought it would bring them together, plus it would be really boring for cleric if the party never faced the undead. Like a rogue could get bored facing plants and golems.
Just a thought.
