I did, about three weeks ago, LOL. Though honestly today feels more in the Spring spirit than the vernal equinox did.

Thus the Corn God arises from death
The Crone becomes the Maiden
And all is made new again
As it has before and will again.

Happy Easter to all you Christain folk out there!
Happy Passover for those of the Jewish faith!
A belated Happy New Year (Nowruz) to the Zoroastrians!

No matter what you believe, take a moment to go outside and stick your hands in the warming soil. Reconnect yourself to the land as it stirs from its long sleep.

Easter only has an hour to go here, but Happy Easter to alla youse with the fun still to come!
The kids ate more chocolate today than they would normally have in a year!
**sigh** another year when we'll still have Eggs left in the cupboard from last Easter because all 50 thousand relatives all give mountains of chocolate to a (now) 3 and 1 year old... (I suppose I should empty out the leftovers now so I can put the new stuff in).

Happy easter to everyone. Also a deal with the bunny since when did it become a member of the egg laying mamal group. Please someone help me with it. :)

Easy peasy. Eggs and bunnies are both important fertility symbols. Thus their association with many Springtime rituals.

thanks for that clarification

Happy Easter all.

As my daughter believes...

In fact, she told us today that the Cadbury Bunny lives in a fluffy white cloud all year long over the North Pole (which is near our house). On the night before Easter, he flies out of the cloud and down to earth. If you were a good boy or girl all year long, then he lays chocolate eggs and jelly beans, which the Easter Bunny puts in a pretty basket at the foot of your bed while you're sleeping.

I love the way that children can spin out their own mythos. Absolutely priceless.

I suddenly have this urge to stat out Cloud Cadbury Land where the Rabbit Elves spend all year in the Easter Castle fashioning choclate delights for good boys and girls...

Happy Easter!

Patrick, that would be sweet if you could stat Cloud Cadbury Land out. Of course, I couldn't let my gaming group anywhere near it, because they'd kill everyone off and take all the chocolate.

[scurrilous rumour] It is a well known fact that german scientists introduced shoggoths from the Antarctic into the Arctic environment in the early 1940s as part of a scheme to demoralise the allies. In very short order the easter bunny population at the North Pole was virtually wiped out; the few survivors were given asylum in Britain, at Bournville, inspiring Roald Dahl to later write his historical novel Tekeli-li and the Chocolate Factory (which later had to be 'toned down' for popular consumption and was rebranded with its now much better known name... with regard to where the shoggoths went in the adapted version of Dahl's work - well let's just say that the oompa-loompas didn't always sing, nor was Mr. Wonka quite such a benevolent figure). Given that my only knowledge of Willy Wonka is from the 1970's movie, he didn't seem all that benevolent to me. In fact, he seemed downright scary.

When my kids were younger, they asked me were the easter bunny lived.

I promptly answered the east pole.

"There's no such place," said my son.

"I know," I said.

"So where does he live?"

"The east pole," I replied again, firm in my convictions.

"How can he live in a made up place," they asked.

"He just does," I said. And cheerfully I let them to ponder that thought without explaining further.

I love Gene Wilder in that role. I really think it was perhaps his finest hour.

Making a statement without any evidence is a secret of good GMs ;)
(or politicians, now that i think about it)

Happy egg day. I'm sitting cloistered on the computer enjoying dessert and avoiding my other half's family. *sigh* I love her, but there are times I can hardly believe she's related to these people.
