After comparing Canadian fans to "mashed potatoes with no gravy" and getting upset when a Canadian talkshow host mentioned his movie career, Billy Bob Thornton's band, The Boxmasters, has canceled the rest of the Canadian tour. Apparently fans in Canada reacted badly to Billy Bob's tirade. I wonder how he feels about Yahoo posting this article in the movie section?

It all started Here. The interviewer is Jian Ghomeshi, he used to belong to a band named Moxy Fruvous, anyways Jian remains pleasant, friendly, and tries to salvage the interview, but Billy Bob doesn't seem to get that he's there to promote his band . . . a band that's current biggest selling point is a their drummer, actor/director Billy Bob Thornton. Anyways his band mates seem to cringe, they look like they're used to Billy Bob's temper, and I feel sorry for them and wish them the best of luck. Billy Bob comes across as a stereotypical Hollywood actor.

That was awesome - thanks for linking! I loved the way the rest of the band seem to be hanging their heads, as if to say "There he goes again." You've got to wonder about his attitude, I mean, it's not as if BBT has the worst movie career ever. Doesn't he have an Oscar? He could've just dropped it, *he* was the one dragging it out.
Anyhow, thanks for the laugh!
Peace,
tfad

Are any of you aware that the host agreed not to mention hollywood at all in the interview moments before the interview, and that he then broke the agreed script moments into this clip, which explains the tension in the room from the beginning?
I believe Jian when he says that the producers might have been told what not to talk about that but Jian has got a job to do: make the interview interesting. Either way it's ridiculous, I've never heard of the Boxcars or Boxmen or whatever they're called, take away the fact that their drummer is Billy Bob Thornton . . . yes 'that' Billy Bob Thornton then how do you introduce them? Why would Canada want to hear about some no name band that has has no hits and has likely not toured most Canadian cities or even seen a lot of air time? This is a national show, something that's airs in almost every corner of Canada, and they were there to promote their album and plug their shows. Why should I be interested in a band that's going to be playing three days away in Toronto? Billy Bob was the hook. Billy Bob didn't get that. Billy Bob behaved like an ass on national radio. That's the story . . . I really don't care about what Billy Bob did or didn't want to talk about.

As too many celebraties have learned, the moment you say something is off-limits is the moment you are going to get asked about it. That is just human nature. And if the thing you put off limits is the only reason for people to know who BBT is, then you are just asking for trouble. Any journalist worth his salt should never be willing to say, okay this topic is off the table.
