Gary,
When I got back from vacation, I noticed that threads I had been reading no longer showed that there were any new messages since I last looked. I thought it was just because I had not looked at anything in a long time. When I signed on this morning I noticed the thread about WotC removing the PDFs had added about 100 new posts since I last viewed it yesterday, but it was not indicating them. I looked at them and left for a while. When I came back, it showed 20 new posts. It looks like the new post indicator is only showing up if the last time you looked was the same day. Is this a bug or did you change the settings?

Edit: The Message Boards are also slower than the Store sites. Is this because of so much traffice about the PDFs, or is there a problem?

The "(x new)" stuff is only kept around for a week. It's also kept in an "unreliable" store (not the database), so it's possible for older data to get pushed out to make room.

The messageboards and the store are the same application. I've made a bunch of performance improvements over the past couple weeks, so hopefully the site will be more responsive going forward.
