Allura looks at Devlyn. "I'm not sure what sort of crystals you have in mind."

Thanks for providing the link. I turned in early yesterday so didn't see the question until this morning.

I've got to maintain some level of usefulness here, otherwise I'll get hurt... :P

"Anything that could help in battling undead, or constructs. These would be attached to tridents, if that helps explain the need."

I can't remember if there are any augment crystals that do these things or not. Oopsy... :)

The Demolition Crystal is good for battling contructs. And the Truedeath crystal is useful against undead. I can provide more info later if needed. I'll leave the MIC on my desk for now. bbiab. Have to go volunteer at school for a couple hours, but will be here the rest of the day once I get back.

Those will work. And we'll see you in a little while! :)

Devlyn thinks for a moment, then asks the half-elven proprietress:
"TrueDeath or Demolition crystals - do you have any of those?"

Nirellia has entered the shop and is quietly looking around whilst Allura and Devlyn discuss things at the counter with Mililani Deccubus. She has a thoughtful expression on her face and what appears to be a piece of heather in a vine bag.
Not sure if Allura/Devlyn have seen Nirellia around the Sanctum of the Sun; as information for Blue Pigeon, so he can prep an answer for Mililani, Nirellia's in here with a question regarding 'evil eye' sort of abilities/gypsy curses (more because of interest in the folklore side of it than the actual magical angle, although she may feign interest in magical explanations).
I'm going out now; will be back in maybe a couple of hours.

Ah! Maps and printing! A fine profession indeed! I say, proprietress? Do you have a map of the far eastern land of Tian Xia?

The shopkeeper looks at the girthy alderman discerningly. "No guv, afraid not. The Tian Xia guard their lands and maps jealously. They are known to send marauders and assassins to ruin mapmakers."

Concentrating, she motions her hand over the scrying glass

"Yes, I have a few such crystals in stock. One of each I believe."

Her attention turns briefly to the elven women that has just entered her store. Then it goes back to the dalesman.

To my knowledge, these three have never crossed paths before. Devlyn and Allura have only been to the Sanctum once, and only for a few minutes. With the way RL schedules are looking, I don't think I'll ever be over there when stuff actually happens... ;P

Well, I'm off to bed. Did the graveyard shift last night and my brain is slowly curdling. If you want to see what else I've been doing, check out the the current postings on the Angry Jack Cult. Nighty, Nighty. I'll be up in seven to eight hours.

I still have one more thing to do before they leave the store. It involves the purchase of another item, something I want to detail in postings.

"Alright, I'll take both please. And I believe my lady," he says while inclining his head toward Allura "will be getting those healing potions."

Devlyn and Allura will then pay Mililani for their new items, then leave the store to continue their search for Nimora's net.

I searched for something once....although it wasn't a net....I did wear some fishnet stockings once, but that was part of a costume....once , at Mardi Gras time, I had a really neat costume...it was a white sheet with holes cut in it....or, Holy Sheet....I like silk bed sheets....they're really comfortable.....the time I was most comfortable was when I got a massage...I thought about being a masseuse once, but I didn't.....I became a bartender instead.....

Okay, we can do it as a flashback when you get back. Since the Dalesman has limited posting time I don't want to keep him stuck here all day.

I was once stuck at the DMV all day.....I was trying to get a new driver's license.....I'm a pretty good driver, although sometimes I go to fast....I wish I could run really fast, kind of like the Flash....he's my favorite superhero....another superhero I like is Green Lantern....he makes big green fists....I chewed some shrooms once, and they made everything look green....it was really psychadelic....

Whoops - I missed that. So we'll go with what she said! :P

I seldom miss.

Devlyn and Allura continue their tour of the Bazaar, trying to finish finding everything left on the 'shopping list' they received from the others at the Oasis.

Allura sees a shop selling goods that look to be of elven make. "Hang on just a second. I'll be right back." She ducks into the store and comes back in about five minutes and shyly hands Devlyn a small package.

Devlyn takes the package from her, a warm smile on his face as he notes her body language.

"May I open it now, or would you like me to wait until later?" he asks.

"You can open it now." She bites her lip as she waits for him to open it, obviously anxious about whether or not he'll like it.

Inside the package is a beautifully crafted cloak brooch in the shape of a seahorse inlaid with mother-of-pearl with tiny pearls for eyes.

He carefully removes the brooch, running a finger over it to admire every tiny detail of the seahorse. The mother-of-pearl inlay makes it look like sunlight filtered through water on its skin.

He looks up at her and chuckles.
"You're going to draw blood if you clamp down any harder on your lip. Here, I've got a better idea," as he pulls her close and kisses her.

"You didn't have to do that, but it's beautiful. Thank you. Help me clasp it on?"

"Fair enough - then I'll wear my 'spoiling' with pride!" he says with a grin as they continue down the lane.

"Oh, look, there's somewhere with nets," she says, pointing to a run-down looking shop with nets hung up in the window and a delapidated sign proclaiming it to be the 'Fisherman's Friend'. "I don't know if they'll have what Nimora is looking for, but it's worth a try."

"Well...maybe all the good stuff's inside. Besides, we haven't seen many other offerings around here today - it might be our only chance."

They head in and start looking.

A grizzled old sailor with an eyepatch and a peg leg hobbles out from behind the counter to greet them.
"Well bless my soul, customers. Noo, there's somethin' I don't see often." He scratches his head. "Prolly shoulda thought a that afore I put up a tackle shop in the desert. So, what can I get fer you fine folks today."

Love. That. Name. :D

Devlyn gives a friendly grin.
"Yeah, they're thick as flies in a swamp out there!"

"We're looking for a handheld net for a sea elf friend of ours. Something pincer-proof preferably. If you have anything with a bit of magic to it as well, we'd be interested in that too."

"Hmmmm, let me see here, it's been a while since I had to really look through the inventory you understand." He rummages through a pile of nets, throwing them every which way as he determines they aren't what he's looking for. "Silver net, now that was a story for you, and I hope I never see another vampire shark again in this lifetime. Good chance too this far from the ocean, but that's neither here nor there...Adamantine net....nope," he gasps, unable to lift it. "Too heavy. You know what, I bet I put that goldarned thing in the back room. I'll be right back."

As he disappears into the back, Devlyn leans over to Allura and whispers in her ear:

"I like this guy - I think this is one of the most entertaining shops I've been in today. It's like getting dinner and a floor show!"

Allura stifled a giggle as the old man returned from the back carrying a large oilskin wrapped parcel.

Devlyn's attention returns to the good shopkeep. This looks promising...

"Here we are. I think." He scratched his head. "Well, probably." He opened the parcel. "Now how in hades did that get in there?" he asked, confused, as he tossed aside a box of rubber duckies. The duckies flew all over the shop in a shower of squeaks. "Ah, here we are. A Force Web. Just the thing for your sea elf friend, yes? And seeing as how you're the only customers I've had all month, I'll give you a good deal on it."

"Shiny," Devlyn says as he inspects the magic net. "I think this will be perfect. We'll take it - and some of these squeaky things too," as he picks up one of the rubber duckies, an amused look on his face.

"Excellent!" He helps you round up the rubber duckies and rewraps the parcel. After he takes your money he looks around for a moment with a bemused look on his face.
"Now where did I put that goldarned cash box?"
He rummages around for a bit, bait boxes and traps flying every which way. "Ah, here it is. Knew I still had it around here somewhere." You hear a clinking sound as he puts the money into the box.
"You folks have a pleasant day, now, and come back any time."

After ducking crab pots and other sundries flying about, they stow the parcels away and head back out into the Bazaar.

"And you as well, sir. Thanks for the help today!"

As soon as they're out of earshot of the shop, Allura lets out the laugh she has been desperately trying to hold in for several minutes.

He just shakes his head and laughs too.

"He's a good guy - just a little disorganized. Good times...now was there anything else on our list, or did we actually get everything?"

"I think we've got everything. Time to go back to the Oasis? Or was there anything else you wanted here?"

Allura wrote:

"We could spend days wandering through here and still not see everything. I've got no problem poking my head into shops for as long as you want, though we should get our 'gifts' back to the others in a reasonable amount of time."

"Though they do have inns here...hmmm. Choices..."

I swear it was 2:00 the last time I looked at the clock... :)

Time to drive. I'll be back on in an hour or so!

Post got eaten - okay, back for the next hour! :)

"It's not that far away from the Oasis, even on foot, which means we can always come back later. Why don't we head back for now and see if anything else is brewing. If things are quiet, we can come back and see what this place is like after the sun sets," he says with a smirk.

Sign off time for me - see everyone in the morning! :)

The dwarven lord returns to MacGurdan's store, having added a couple more retainers to his entourage since the previous visit, these ones carrying a small strong box between them, which measures about a foot and a half along each side. He leaves four of his guards outside, and brings the other two into the venue with him, as on his previous trip, but is also accompanied by the dwarves with the strong box.
He signals to them to put the strong box down on the counter and they do so. One of them produces a key, and raises the lid, revealing that the box is full of gleaming electrum pieces.

Can you manage to deliver to the Countess Almathrada's planar transport service on the other side of the bazaar? Berholm asks MacGurdan. I don't like having to use a non-dwarf, but she is, apparently, highly reliable and always as good as her word. If you can convey your wares to her yard, she can arrange shipment to anywhere I require them.

Ah well, they do guard their secrets well. Well, what maps DO you sell? Planar? Extra-planar?

Okay, we can do it as a flashback when you get back. Since the Dalesman has limited posting time I don't want to keep him stuck here all day.

Not a problem, let me know when you're ready. I have three other posts I need to answer.

With her work finished, Mililani approaches the elven woman respectfully, but judging her dress and mannerisms, she must be a woman of formal bearing.

"It pleases me to have in my shop. How may I be of service?"

"Whatever tickles yuir fancy. I have maps of rare locations, of strongholds, of elemetal planes, celestial, the lower planes of the Infernal Hells, and demi-planes. I have journal entries for study if you need to brows through them."

Her accent, if anything, has a slight welsh/scottish pang to it. More like someone born in a lower class, but having to work her way up and through the scholastic ranks.

To Mililani Deccubus:
I came across a group of human gypsies furtively engaged in a mission of planting a pouch in the vicinity of a building I was recently visiting. I waited until they had moved on, then - with due caution - retrieved the pouch, and investigated. I possess some familiarity with the basics of magecraft and was able to identify that the contents of the pouch - this piece of heather - possessed some sort of hard to detect dweomer, but beyond that I only have guesses as to what they were about.
I have taken care not to directly handle the heather, and have brought it here, in hopes of an explanation of what the humans might have been about and hope to achieve by the planting of what I take to be some sort of fetish or charm.
She offers the vine bag with the piece of heather.
