That would be the one

www.emass-web.com

This site had a number of character sheets and customizable spell sheets for all 3.5 classes along with other useful resources. It also offered 4th ed sheets/spell lists too.

Ah. Thanks.

I think I remember reading about something about this situation. Isn't there something in the GSL about character sheets for Dungeons & Dragons 4E? That they were now WotC's IPs?

I'm not sure, all I have been told about the situation has been that Ema's site reproduced the information 4th edition powers as part of the character creation (explaining what each power did and so on), and that the 3rd edition sheets used the D&D logo without permission.

I don't recall anyone talking about a part of the GSL that barred character sheets or such.

Linked.

If you reply to this post you should be able to see what I did to make the tag work hopefully.

Telling - instead of dropping a friendly email explaining their position, they drop the bomb with a C&D.

Sure, they have the right, and they need to protect their IP, but I prefer companies who haven't abandoned friendliness yet.

Yeah, I also heard that it wasn't the sheet, but the information you could pull from the site (and there was also a component where you paid for storage, I think, which presumably increased WotC's irritation).
