Per the results of [url=http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/paizoPublishing/pathfinder/pathfinderRPG/general/tinyCreaturesCanMoveIntoOrThrough]this thread on the movement of Tiny creatures
, our group has decided to allow Tiny creatures to remain in the square of a Medium-size opponent when they attack.
So now I'd like to move on to the AOO issue. (Didn't think you were getting with it that easily, did you?!)
Say a Medium and Tiny creature each occupy the same 5-ft square. The Medium creature moves 20 feet and casts a spell.
Questions
1. Does their movement out of the initial square provoke an AOO from the Tiny creature? What if there are four Tiny creatures in the initial square?
2. Describe how you would handle the AOO provoked if the square contained from 1 to 25 Dimunitive or from 1 to 100 Fine creatures. (These are the limits stated in the rules regarding the number of creatures smaller than Tiny that can fit in a single square.)
3. Swarms are defined such that they may never take attacks of opportunity. Describe why your rulings for questions 1 and 2 are the same or different from swarms and the rationale for such. In other words, if your answer for #1 was "yes", why don't swarms receive attacks of opportunity and how do you justify the difference? (Swarms may contain up to 300 non-flying Tiny creatures, 1,500 non-flying Dimunitive creatures, or 10,000 non-flying Fine creatures.)
I want to understand WHAT your ruling would be regarding the AOO and WHY you would rule that way
Please help, oh Paizo one. You're my only hope. <grin>
Thanks.
