I'm interested in converting some of the classes from other sources, such as the PHB II, Expanded Psionics Handbook, "Complete ..." series of titles, and so on. Classes such as the Favored Soul, Warlock, Psion, etc. I know there were a lot of changes to the SRD base classes in Pathfinder, and I was wondering if there is a formula, or a guideline for making other classes compatible, or are they already considered to be on a par with the Pathfinder power level (and thus, the base classes were ramped up in Pathfinder to put them on a par with the non-base classes)?
And what about other PrC's? I saw where someone mentioned that the saving throws were completely redone for Pathfinder PrC's. What is the formula there?
There's some general advice, like BAB and HD are linked now, skills work a bit differently (and some skills are gone) and so on. Making those changes should be enough to make the classes fully compatible - and they can usually be done on the fly.
PrC saves progression aren't really that different, if you see the pattern: The +2 for 1st-level strong saves is gone, and otherwise the saves are "stepped up" a level (i.e. on the 1st PrC-level you get saves as if you were 2nd-level, and so on). All in all it does a good approximation of the saves of a single-classed character (and maybe multiclassing will work somewhat like this in general.)
Whether other classes need more or less power or some more options - that would have to be decided on a case by case basis.

The Save Progression for Prestige Classes is effectively different in PFRPG.
Good save progression is
1°)+1, 2°)+1, 3°)+2, 4°)+2, 5°)+3
and so on - basically, [(level-1)/2]+1 (rounded down)
Bad save progression is
1°)0, 2°)+1, 3°)+1, 4°)+1, 5°)+2
and so on - basically, (level+1)/3 (rounded down)
