Bringing it out of the limbo of Archives! WOO HOO!
Okie dokie I just did my applications for the two licenses. The plan is to use Pathfinder RPG to make free adventures set in Golarion. Need both licenses and all will be free, so should be no problem.
BUT I wanted to check on something. I HOPE to eventually use the website to also sell prints and images I have made. They are fantasy related so I wanted to be sure this is still ok.
From the Community Use Policy:
"If Paizo believes that you are in the publishing business, you are considered to be a commercial user, and you are not granted any right to use any Paizo Material under this Policy."
My recommendation would be to keep any commercial publishing ventures and your Community Use site separate and as distinct as possible.

Hey Vic- I'm sure its fine but I wanted to make sure there were no issues with a d20srd.org-like site for Pathfinder. I have been working on a google site since yesterday and want to make sure its all good :)

I'm not Vic, but he answered the same question in a thread I started this weekend.
But it's the same question, and he does specifically answer it.
Love your site BTW. I have already plugged it over with the MapTools community. Some of the campaign framework programmers were interested in an html site of the PF RPG core rules...
(In case I'm talking some other language, Maptools is a great free Virtual Table Top program. A campaign framework is a compilation of macros to automate the adjudication of parts of an RPG, to make running it over the internet easier.)

Woot! Maptool!
Yeah I will definitely be pointing my MapTool campaign links to the spell reference in J's reference site as soon as we have it standardized enough.

:D
I pointed Azhrei and lmarkus001 at them as well. They were looking for an html reference for spell and skill macros.
[threadjack]On these boards, check out the community created stuff thread for some Rise of the Runelord tokens I had made up. The Black Magga sea monster came out really well, as did the lamia matriarch.[/threadjack]

Vic I have another question for you.
The Community Use Policy says we can descriptively refer to characters, proper names, etc, etc as long as proper ownership to Paizo is given.
Is there a phrase or sentence you guys prefer? I plan on using a couple or so NPCs that are referenced in J1 and J4, Absalom, and maybe Taldor simply to add a sense of continuity. And no, it will not presume previous contact nor ruin possible plots or anything.
And I also wanted to ask about descriptively referencing them. For example I want to have the players contact the Mithral Scarab. Am I able to add CG Half-Elf Abjurer 3/Rogue 3? Can I make stats? (at the moment I do not anticipate needing stats, but the classes and such would be useful for a GM).

The Phrase is in the Policy..
• To use Paizo Material under this Policy you must include the following notice in plainly legible and accessible form in each product or on each website that uses any Paizo Material:
"This [website, character sheet, or whatever it is] uses trademarks and/or copyrights owned by Paizo Publishing, LLC, which are used under Paizo's Community Use Policy. Yes I know that phrase but that does not actually designate that the Mithral Scarab is a character owned by Paizo. It sounded, to me anyway, that the characters must be clearly designated as belonging to Paizo. For example, should I use the Mithral Scarab in my adventure no one would know that she actually is not my own creation.
Community Use Policy
You may descriptively reference trademarks, proper names (characters, deities, artifacts, places, etc.), locations and characters from products listed in Section 1 of our Community Use Approved Product List at paizo.com/communityuse/products, provided it is clear that these are our marks.

Krome,
When it comes to proper names, locations and characters, the standard phrase is good enough (though if you want to say something like "Seoni is a creation of Paizo Publishing," you're welcome to do so). The "provided it is clear that these are our marks" bit is really meant to apply to the trademarks; that is to say, folks should be careful that references to "Pathfinder®" aren't ever done in such a way that a reader might think that Pathfinder is *your* registered trademark.
If you want to be extra sure about that sort of thing, you could explicitly state that "Pathfinder is a registered trademark of Paizo Publishing, LLC."

That's all fine.
