[Rant on]
To warn others..
Citibank is really starting to piss me off..
First the raise my credit card APR from U.S. Prime Rate + 9.99% , no minimal *Little over 13% right now* To..
U.S. Prime Rate + 13.99% with a minimal 19.99% Apr.
that is a 7% raise!!.. That should be illegal!!
So others know, though not all Citibank Credit Card customers will see this change, the majority will.
This is what they do next..
My Checking account has an Auto Over draft of $500 with a APR of U.S. Prime Rate + 9.99% *that did not change*.
They just added a fee to it. If you do not manually move money from the overdraft to your checking account by 7:30Pm EST they will auto move the money and charge you a $10 fee for that day..
That is ridiculous and the stupidest charge I have ever seen! They are charging me $10 for auto moving money!... Oh My God!!
I have been a customer with Citibank for 15 years and at this time I can't cancel my account... but as soon as I move back to the states.. Citibank goes!

Yep. They jacked my credit card interest and tacked a bunch of fees on to a bank account that never had any. Called them this past week: Buh-bye, Citibank.
I just don't get how they expect the smart customers not to do this.. When I called them the Customer service lady said the majority of people with the interest hike either Canceled the card.. or applied to another card with a much cheaper interest rate..

Ugh! My outfit's new travel cards are with Citi, and we've already had problems as well. Maybe they should take some of that bailout money and buy a clue.
DoD (Department of Defense) just went to Citbank for their Travel Cards.

Citi-bank is still better than Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo charged me with a $2,000 overdraft for an account that has been closed for over 3 years. I disputed the charge but Wells Fargo insisted that I own them money and threatened to ruin my credit rating unless I paid them. I wrote the regional president that I would like to have a civil judge adjudicate the dispute and I would agree to his decision, I never heard back from Wells Fargo and my credit rating stayed the same so I figured that they dropped the claim. Last week I got a letter from a collection agency stating that they bought the debit from Wells Fargo and demanded that I pay them $2,000 or they will ruin my credit rating.

Hey.. Here is an interesting story on Debt Collectors..
I got a letter from a debt collector they they bought out the debt from AT&T for a bill I owed $300 for from back in 93...
Well I looked into it and I found out that some states have a Statute of Limitation on bill collecting.
If they have not tried to contact you in x years they have forfeited the right to collect that money.
I can't remember What it was for NY, but it had pass for that bill. I sent a letter to the collection agency notifying them of this and they sent me a letter back stating they would no longer try to collect the bill from me.
So if it has been a few years since Wells Fargo has tried to collect this money, check and see if they have passed the Statute of Limitation for your state.
You can Google it, there are a bunch of pages talking about it.

I wonder if any of this was triggered by FICO08, or just more financipocalypse? I keep pretty close tabs on our credit rating and credit card rates. Our Chase Visa jumped to over 13% (fricking not happening), so I paid 95% of it off and just stick to the debit and the Discover (5%) now. Once it's 100% paid off, I'll probably ask them to lower it, or simply let it rot (closing account = bad for credit score).
I'm sure they bank millions on the idea customers simply won't notice. Kind of rude, to be honest, like the "men are stupid pigs" commercials.
I loathe activating the replacement cards (stupid plastic always breaks), as calling in means they'll simply try to sell me crap I don't want. Last call I walked away while they prattled on for eight minutes on speakerphone. I finally came back after two frantic "are you theres?" They got the message. I'm also not a fan of these crappy "miles" cards they shove on me. It just means vendors have to raise prices to make up for lower percentages off each transaction.

Yeah, same thing with me. I've been a customer since 1993. No late payments in over a decade (since college, really), credit rating in the mid 700s, etc...
My card was a platinum with prime + 2.7, that was at 5.99% in december. January was 15.99%! They jacked the rate 10% for no justifiable reason. I called them on it and since it was at the start of the year, I refused the terms. My card goes back to the old rate until it expires, when it converts to a loan. Somehow I don't think they'll have my money that long.
I don't like to overreact with this sort of thing, but unless something major changes they will join cablevision as a company that is dead to me.
