Shifter Conversion

Prestige Classes

I've always been fond of the Shifter class from the Masters of the Wild book, and I've put together a quick conversion of it for Pathfinder.

Is this an appropriate place to post it and get feedback on it, or is this only for discussion of the already released Pathfinder prestige conversions?

umm, shifter is not open content, so they can't reprint it, i'm not even sure they can discuss it here, but i love the class, i rewrote it into a full class.

Fair enough. Without going into details then, I just subbed in all the shapeshift spells at seemingly appropriate levels. I don't think it needs to be a full class, or at lease, it'd need some more abilities to go with it to make it such, but it works well as prestige.

I took out all that needless druid spellcasting stuff and turned druids into clerics, of nature. i think druid is a dumb class (in concept, not power)

Why? It's drawing on the power of nature, yes for magical power, but also for more direct power, like the Wild Shape.

I don't think that Eric is in touch with his Celtic roots (if any). Try telling them their priests and wise men were a dumb idea :)

I think he's more saying that their priests and wise men should be just priest and wise men.

And the original druids were probably closer to clerics in their style, albeit more bloody handed and sacrifice based.

But the fantasy archetype of the wild man of the forest, calling on the powers of nature through his magic and through his very mutability of body, is a strong and evocative one.

a cleric of a god, is a cleric. "druids" just focus on nature as a god. i gave them access to all the spells that are polymorph spells and they can use those to do the same thing.

priests and wise men are never a bad idea, well sometimes they aren't a bad idea. i just see them translated wrong into the game. druids themselves i have no problem with, except the baby sacrificing thing, i'm not sure killing the future helps you see the future (yes that is why they did that)

all true, thank you.

edit: oh, and by taking out the worshop part of the shapechanger i made a class that can fit into many different goals, at the end of the class you lost yourself and became in essence a doppleganger. it was very groovy. to bad my primary dm didn't like it when players thought for themselves, he didn't allow it.

Examining strange things was all part of ancient divination - tea leaves, fatted calves, sacred geese, flames, clouds... you name it, someone probably divined with it.

yeah i'm waiting for that part of the divination rules...... material component: 1 live human baby!!!! component is consumed in the casting of the spell.

though i think the exclumation marks in the core book well make people wonder more than anything.
