Okay, yesterday I was listening to a conservative talk show and a caller challenged the host to list three things he liked about Obama. Suprisingly, the host came up with more then three. It got me thinking, what do I admire about Obama? So know I am challenging everyone to list three things that you like about Barack Obama.
1) He is a good husband and father, and has challenged others to step up and be a father to their children.
2) He has expressed a willingness to listen to every good idea, regardless of where they come from.
3) He is willing to stand up and make decisions, even if they are hard.

Hmm, good thought. Let's see....
1. As a techophile I am pleased that he has a grasp of 21st Century technology and its implications. He is the first president of the "Gen X" generation, and I hope he will be more open to new ways of doing business and solving problems.
2. He has consistently called people on their failings, and urged them to do better.
3. He is an effective communicator. I think that this is essential to getting things done in any fashion. Bush was sadly lacking in this department.

1) His charisma and his ability to communicate with others.
2) I like that he's young. He's the first from Gen X(my generation). I hope the Republicans learn from this and start pushing their younger candidates and quit electing people who should be long retired.
3) I like his tough stance on Pakistan. I believe that the Republicans have been too soft on Pakistan because they are supposedly an "ally".

1) He reads Conan the Barbarian comics.
2) He is a bit of a tech nerd.
3) He rose to prominence with a convention speech about bringing Americans together in an era that seemed to be all about tearing Americans apart. I think he will inspire us to be better citizens.
So if Obama played Pathfinder, what class would he be? I'm thinking a caster, maybe a cleric of Desna.

He would be a wizard, Joe Biden a rogue, John McCain a fighter, and Sarah Palin a cleric. Someone already did that one.

1) He is clean
2) He is articulate
3) He picked me to be VP
(I'm Joe Biden, and I approved this message)
Ok, seriously.
1) He's already backed down on his pledge to close Guantanamo
2)He wants to appoint as head of the CIA someone who was involved in rendition
3) He's another lefty (handed, we all know he's a lefty in politics)

1. Great speaker and a great writer; he's an intellectual and I think it's good to have politicians that aren't embarrassed by their intelligence.
2. Welcomes differing opinions and knows how to disagree without alienating anyone.
3. A 50 state election strategy, using new technology and youth volunteering.
4. He draws. A doodle of other Senate members recently sold for a lot of money; now, as a "professional" drawer with a big fancy degree, I'm a little saddened that an amateur can command a greater degree of compensation than myself. However, I must be consoled that it is a drawing by a president (or, at the time, famous Senator).

1. He can talk in full sentences that aren't godsawful to hear.
2. He OBVIOUSLY loves his wife, Michelle.
3. I believe that he truly wants to do better for his and all peoples' children (read: Health Care, stable jobs into the future, etc.).
(And I can say I'm very happy with the fact that he understands a bit of tech and its importance in the world today!).

1. His family look happy, healthy, functional and sane.
2. He is not a f$@$ed-up faith head.
3. He is eloquent and a great orator, which makes a pleasant change.

Also, let's have no arguing or '3 things I dislike about Obama' things. I'm tired of arguing.
Which is a shame. Though I need to find a third thing... He doesn't seem to know what he's doing wit Guantanamo. Hmmm...
3) He's announced pay freezes for his higher staff. Symbolic, but nice

My sentiments go along a lot of the comments already made here, but I wanted to make a special note about the clip Taliesin posted here. That's a darn good speech he's giving there (again)!
A very, very nice change of pace from "'I am driven with a mission from God'. God would tell me, 'George go and fight these terrorists in Afghanistan'. And I did. And then God would tell me 'George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq'. And I did." *shudders*
