Help me give Paizo my $

Off-Topic Discussions

Well, it looks like, after all the wedding and honeymoon expenses and monetary gifts, that there may be some money left over that may get allocated to my mad money. (Pending final authorization of the new Mrs M. Yes, she's a CPA.)

Here's what I'm thinking: I've already missed my opportunity to pick up the entire RotRL in print, so maybe I should grab all of CotCT while the grabbin's good? Maybe throw in a couple of related products to round out the order and get it in before the end of January with our holiday coupon.

So, do any of you, chums/enemies/acquaintances/others, who are more advanced in Paizo purchasing than I, want to tell me what I should buy and why?

Spoiler:
I've got all of Second Darkness so far, Classic Monsters Revisited, RotRL #5, and the Merritt and Brackett books from the Planet Stories, just to save any efforts in those directions.

I'd definitely recommend the Crimson Throne series, while you can still get your hands on them. My group is on the penultimate adventure at the moment, and they're enjoying the heck out of the whole series.

Second Darkness is also shaping up to be a fine AP. I'll be running it after taking a break so one of my co-DMs can run us through RotRL and I can have a chance at trying out the PF paladin.

Scarab Sages

I'd go for the Campaign Setting, or if you want a little less information, the Gazetteer. Also, Gods and Magic and the Guide to Korvosa.

You can still find Burnt Offerings and many of the RotRL on Amazon I think, and Crimson Throne is a very good path.

I just ordered the RotRL 1-2 and 4-6 off Amazon (due to a great benefits package I have at work! Love the Rewards Points!), so they may indeed still be available.

Ultimately, it depends on what you want to do. I picked up the Campaign Guide right after GenCon (more rewards points) because I wanted to have an entire world to play with. The group I'm gaming with doesn't have an interest in much beyond what an Adventure Path would bring them.

I can't comment on CotCT, but I'm almost completely committed to subscribing for the next Adventure Path.

The setting book is great, but the Adventure Paths are probably a better investment: You don't need much beyond the 6 modules and maybe a companion and a player's guide.

I would recommend getting all the APs. The chronicles and Modules are just as good but APs are just fantastic. Amazon is a good way to get those number paizo don't have anymore.

OT @ Hugo:

Spoiler:
Today I bound your calendar, and Ahi Zawas and Ka'kara Furyheart are looking down at me from the wall--I'm really happy with out it turned out! It will guide me throughout 2009...

Cool! I still have to bound mine :D

I would also recommend Guide to Darkmoon Vale and Into the Darklands. Lots of great material there, especially if you DM.

I would recommend Mutants and Masterminds second edition. In my less than humble opinion, it is the best, most adaptable system, period.

If you have a mind to have a couple of good modules for when you don’t want to run an entire AP, may I suggest LB1: Tower of the Last Baron and LB2: Treasure of Chimera Cove. I ran both for my group and they enjoyed both of them. Tower was a little bit on the sneaky side of play and Chimera Cove got the party a ¾ TPK. I would highly recommend anything Steve Greer or Anson Caralya write.

Just my 2 cp.

All coppers appreciated.

I bought the whole Curse of the Crimson throne AP, Guide to Korvosa and Harrow deck. Money well spent. Campaign setting is also a very good choise if you don't have it yet.

If you're planning on sticking with Pathfinder for a while, you could pre-order the RPG and Bestiary, both due out later this year.

Try and find as much of RotRL as you can, too.

Anybody use the CotCT item deck?

@ Doug's Workshop - I highly recommend subscribing when you can. It's like a miniature Christmas every month.
