Moment of Prescience too weak?

This was brought up months ago in a thread on spells, and I haven't seen anyone bring it up now that the spells forum is open. For an 8th level spell, this gives the caster a one time bonus equal to his caster level on a single die roll or AC versus one attack. Yes, it lasts for 1 hour/caster level for you to choose when to apply the bonus, but it's still pretty weak.

I would change the spell to grant that bonus a number of times equal to caster level divided by 4, so you can use it 4 times by the time you can learn the spell, and 5 when you hit 20th level.

Moment of Prescience is an amazing spell, actually:

-It lasts a really long time, thus meaning you can buff out your caster level with temporary caster-level boosts and get it into the +20s.
-It applies to saving throws. Huge.

But more importantly:

-It applies to opposed ability checks. Like initiative.
