Magic and Spells

The Exchange

So I looked at the spell list and saw all those annoying spells developed by wizards from Greyhawk, DragonLance, Forgotton Realms, and Mystara.

Why not ditch the Spells and come up with something unique to the Golarion Setting.

Slavers Whip (1sl level wizard/sorcerer)
Effect: Creates a Magic Whip;
Duration: 1 round per level;
Range: 0

Description:
The Whip created for the spell duration may be used by the wizard to inflict 1d6+1 hp per sucessful melee attack.

Sorry to break it to you, but those annoying spells are the ones most likely to be found in already printed Adventures/Stat Blocks. Thus, including them all is pretty much required for "Backwards Compatability".

Since some of the non-OGL content (Names, etc) DOES have to be stripped out anyways,
it WOULD be nice to see some "Golarion" flavor added to the spells at the same time.
But the same "Functionality" (in intent, not necessarily mechanics) has to remain.
And I doubt there's much room for EXTRA Golarion Spells. Maybe if Pathfinder goes into a 2nd or 3rd run, it can be split back into Player's Guide and DM's Guide, and each one expanded slightly...?
