Please, everyone, make the appropriate sacrifice and obeisance to Auril, Talos, Rovagug... . Here in Spokane we've already got over two feet of snow on the ground and it's still coming down. By the gods, make it stop!
That's why I live in Texas. We may have heat that can fry an egg on the sidewalk but at least we don't have to shovel snow.

Up here in Dallas, Texas we had snow, or ice on the ground just the other day. It almost lasted a full 24 hours too!
We got a little ice on the roads in the central area of the state, but it didn't last. It's amazing how much more winter precip. you guys get than what we do considering the small distance apart.

Yeah, it is crazy, just seeing the difference here in the metroplex. North Texas weather is nuts. I don't think I will ever get used to it.

None of it stuck to the ground over here. I never heard any official measurement, but it looked like at least half an inch on our roof. Of course, my family's homes in N. Dallas got nothing at all.
@ Sighvat - You're not meant to, so don't even try! On the other hand, I can tell you that OK weather is even crazier.

I'm still hoping that we'd have that rubberband effect, whereby some say global warming would reach a point that it would somehow trigger another ice age. Awesome. Living in Texas, I am set...I figure the glacier will stop by the Red River, and perhaps create the Oklahoma mountains as our new boundary.

Well, we are right in the spot where we get fronts from the west coast, from the north, and the gulf all swirling together. Just wish it would pick something, warm or cold and stick with it for a week at a time. Sick of the yoyo effect. 20 degrees and sleet today, 70 tomorrow.
You all get the nasty weather on Monday? I tried to drive to Lewisville for my class on 14th century Swordsmanship, and had to turn around halfway there as the highway was at a dead stop.

Well, I just finished shoveling the walk and front steps for the postman. By law, I'm supposed to shovel the sidewalk in front of my house as well, but...no. I live on a main road, and they've plowed three feet of packed snow and ice on top of where I shoveled this morning. Best to just let it crust over and make a higher sidewalk.
I got the car and driveway cleared too, for all the good it will do. The storm has apparently stopped moving and is just sitting over us. Unless the weather changes, we're expecting at least another six inches overnight, on top of whatever it dumps during the daylight hours. So far, it's the most snowfall on this day in over a quarter century. Good thing school's out until next year.

Just don't add it to my scotch. Hot water only.
Had my first single malt scotch just last Friday. It was great stuff. Hated the blended stuff I had tried in the past.
I drank it neat (that the right term for straight with nothing added?), are you supposed to add hot water to it?

If your having trouble finding someone to drink your scotch just send it to me.
Albuquerque has had about 2" of snow but it was all gone by the next day. The East mountains got around 4" and most of it is still up there. My frends and I were camping up in the Bandeliers, NW of Santa Fe last weekend when the snow hit. We were ready for cold weather but not snow. I Thought I was gonna get frost bite on my feet hiking back to my car.

Ever since my college days in Michigan's UP (326" of snow my senior year), I've come to REALLY hate the white stuff ...
DUDE!!!!!!!!!!
That's like 27 FEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have about 2 inches on the ground at the moment and it should melt off this weekend. Lord love's central Missouri. Some snow to be all pretty but not enough to make it miserable. Then it goes away.

I hope it snows here in the NE from now until next December. I work for a motorcycle insurance company--whatever keeps dudes from mowing down pedestrians and doing stunts up and down the street is beautiful.

In fairness, that was a particularly bad year ... First snowfall was in mid September and the last was 11" on May 1st. I think they usually average about 180" in the Keewenaw each winter.
And they know how to handle it better than here in Detroit; we're getting 6-10" as I type this and things are at (almost) a standstill. 6-10 is a typical snowfall up there.

Anyone with surplus snow can pack it up and send it over here! We've got nothing that lasted more than mere hours and I LOVE SNOW! *sniffle*
(not the cold kind of sniffle, just the missing snow kind)
And make sure it's the proper cold stuff, not the kind that just turns to slush 10 minutes after hitting the ground.
