I know the armoured kilt isn't in the core book, but it could be.
Also, there could be similar items:
Vambraces that grant a shield bonus or increase the existing bonus (for all except tower shield).
And we could do something about helmets. Maybe a bonus to AC against critical confirmation rolls. Heavy armours would automatically get that bonus.

I am not a big fan of messing with crit confirmations.
If I can get my weapon in to my opponent's flesh on a roll of 18, why am I unable to actually do significant damage in that same place? Since there are no hit locations I am not in favor of this idea.
But man dresses are ok I supopose. Whatever floats your skirt...
Course you won't want to wear your combat boots into battle anymore. There will need to be some nice combat pumps or combat stilletos.
and might need a spell to coordinate your accessories...
;)
ok ok ok just teasing :)

Well, that cat's not only out of the bag, it also ate the creamed canary. The Critical Focus feat, which might well make it into the final game, already improves your confirmation roll. And the 3.5 version of power critical did, too. Oh, and there's a Trait that does it.
I thought about the benefits a helmet could grant, and since armour (kilt) and shield (vams) already had something that imrpvoed them, I thought something to do with crits (since the head is a very crit-friendly spot) would work. I'm not really married to the idea, though.

Hey! Don't mess with combat Skir...I mean Kilts!
In the 3.0 Arms and Equipment Guide is the Dastana which are a kind of bracers that provides a +1 AC bonus at -1 ACP and stacks with other forms of AC so the idea of added stuff to boost AC is there but I don't really see the need as anyone wearing armor is hitting 30 AC by level 10. Why give them more to help boost that number?
