[Feats] I would like to see Included

Hello!

Here is my quick list of Feats I would like to see included.

-Extra Spell
-Extra Slot
-Quickened Turning (Channeling)
-Empowered Turning (Channeling)
-Speed burst (From Arcana Unearthed/ Evolved):Extra Move action as a Swift action 1 per day per 2 levels.

Any thoughts?


Add also Extra Smite (or the equivalent, if the Smite Evil would be changed in the end).

We "play tested" quickened turning, and 1) it is probably overpowered, giving it a feat pre-req might tone it down a bit, like empowered or something like that. 2) It frees up the cleric to do more fun stuff.

Since the cleric can now heal and cast, instead of heal or cast he really can do more then keep the party alive. It was pretty awesome.

Alternatively it should just be a class feature that Channeling is a move action, so you can can channel/attack or channel/cast, or channel/move (but maybe not channel/channel)


How About a single feat called Extra Class Feature?

It would cover all x/day use abilities; increasing the uses per day by three. It could be taken multiple times for different features or more uses for a single feature.

Or Empowered Class Feature or Maximized Class Feature?

They would cover any ability that rolled for an effect. It could be used a number of times per day, probably three.

Or Sudden Class Feature?

It would reduce the action required to perform the ability by one, full-round to standard, standard to move, move to swift. It would be usable a number of times per day, probably three. It could be taken multiple times to reduce the action time even more, to be usable more times per day or to cover a different feature.

This is important for channeling because in 3.5, Quicken Turning made Turning a free action, which was okay in 3.5. But in Pathfinder Channeling is much more powerful and shouldn't be so easily made into a free action.

Also these could be used for Wizard School and Sorcerer Bloodline features.


I have no problem with "Quickened Channeling" if it takes 4-5 uses to activate it. Same for 3 uses and "Empower Channeling".

Extra Smite sure, Extra Spell and Slot are a bit silly but no objection (as long as the spell slot doesn't scale up automatically).

But NO on Speed Burst. If you want that take a half dozen levels of Psychic Warrior and take Hustle.

Also why should quickened channeling require that many uses?

I don't think this is a very fair comparison or question. It's like asking "Why should only Wizards/Sorcerers (or other arcane casters) be able to cast fireball?". It automatically assumes that something unique and special to those classes should be universally available to all classes.

Without various uniquely exclusive abilities (or other unique feature(s)) to differentiate and identify the classes from one another what's the point of having different classes at all? I realize that I have made a very general assumption and over simplification of your question, but I feel the implications of what you're questioning (if "corrected" as a general rule to all abilities and classes) could be devastating to the individuality and uniqueness of the classes.

I do agree with your questioning of why the Quicken Channeling should require so many additional uses. It should be, IMHO, comparable to the level adjustment of Quickened spellcasting.

Speed burst is a general feat from Arcana Unearthed/Evolved that in my experiece allowed characters increased mobility regardless of character class.
Since Psionics is not a part of pathfinder and I believe Speed burst is OGL (published by Malhavoc press) to be completely candid I did not consider what Psyhic warriors or Psions can do. Much like abilities from other non OGL Prestige Classes or "splat books".

How many feats give you a per-day ability? I know there are many feats that enhance or give extra uses to per-day abilities, but are there many feats that just add limited use abilities? And is that a president one wants to set, or is something like speed boost a good magic item?
