The Gaming Den, alive?

Does anyone happen to know what's happened to The Gaming Den? I've tried to go the forum for the past few days, and the internet seems to have decided it doesn't exist.

Wow. Must contain snark.......

Your link took me to Paizo somehow but going to Here seems to work.

I see why.. his url doesn't have 'http://'.. i've noticed on the boards anytime you put a url as just 'www.something.com', for some reason it'll automatically put paizo's address in front of the 'www'.. I wonder if there's any way that could be fixed...

Thank you for the enlightening experience. I never realized that there was that much hatred and vitriol directed towards Paizo and Pathfinder. It reminded me of why this is the only board I frequent.

Don't forget the paranoia.

OW!

Spoiler:
I bit my tongue...

That is a weird effect, seeing a board that assumes the main site if there's no "http://" in front.

The site seems to be working now. A confusing experience, and I think at least one other person had the same problem as I.

I never got to the paranoia. The hatred and vitriol were enough for me. Well that, and the Frank Trollman hero worship.

Yeah, that always strikes me as just plain wrong.....like being a follower of Manson (not Marilyn!).

Well most of it is stuff along the lines of Aubray (of malformed fame) is a lurker there all the time (Aubrey went there once and never went back.) Him and the authority were the same person (was disproved by one of the Paizo staff) Oh and that Joshua J Frost made himself a moderator just so he could get rid of one or two of them (completely ignoring that A. he has moderated these forums long before any of them showed up and B. he works for the company who own the forums so if he really wanted rid of them he wouldn't have to make himself a moderator.)

Dark Archive

That is pretty twisted stuff.

Liberty's Edge

I think they were smote by the Lord.

What a weird place. They don't seem to be like any players I have ever met. The soul-less number-crunching and rage of "EPIC FAIL!" is really mind-boggling. What ever happened to just having fun and playing "pretend-elves"? Almost funny.

more sad then anything really

Now there I agree with you. One thing I can say for the posters at Paizo (especially the PbPers) they just want to have fun playing a character, rather than taking apart the system with a scalpel and a wrench. Although I do keep away from the PF playtest boards! :D

its not to bad once most of that crew left. Still it gets rough and there is too much we need 12d6 smite and super power friends stuff here and there. But over all not bad.

I role play first and don't worry with power gamers. I do know them gameden folks would never play at my table as they would cry, rant and leave or play the damned game.

We do have some killer role players around here.
