[Spell Focus] for schools with few saving throws

One thing that's always bugged me about spell focus is that while for some schools it's great (enchantment, evocation, etc.), for other schools, there are very few spells that grant saving throws (divination and abjuration in particular.)

I'd like to see spell focus (and greater spell focus) provide a bonus to saving throws as they currently do, but for spells that do not provide a save, to grant their bonus to caster level checks that are part of the spell (i.e. dispel magic), or provide a 5% bonus for spells that have a percentile chance of working (i.e. augury, divination, contact other plane, etc.)

Thoughts?

I agree that it does benefit some schools over others, and think that a slight tweak to it might be okay. Currently, I allow our Conjurist to take the feat to allow his summons to last an extra round (I mean, Conjuration definitely has some saving throw spells, but my player wanted to summon more than anything so I cut him a break).

Divination and Abjuration could use some sort of alternative, though I'm not so keen on the idea of adding 5% (It feels odd to me... maybe a little too weak? I dunno, I haven't seen a Diviner before, so I could be wrong). I'm also unsure about what to do with Abjuration, so I'll have to think that one over.

I personally think adding these sort of "options" would be nifty with the feat. It wouldn't be overpowering I don't think, it would just add versatility. For instance, if another Conjurist in our group wanted to take the +1 to DCs, then I'd be fine with that, too.

I'm definitely in the same boat as you for this one.
