I just thought it might be a good idea if there was some kind of option available for one person to buy a store credit for another person if they have an account on the site. Perhaps as an item for purchase out in the store, available in increments of $5 or $10?
For instance, with gamer Xmas lists being hopelessly specific sometimes, it would be a help if maybe a relative could say just put $20 on the site for their beloved gamer to log on later and apply to their latest fix of sweet Paizonian goodness. Equivalent of a gift card or gift certificate?
Anyhoo, I have no idea what would be involved or if it is at all feasible. Just wanted to throw it out there...
Great idea! I have asked for pathfinder material for Christmas and this would be nice.
My best friend gave me a Paizo Gift Card last year - made the card herself and put cash in it.
This would be very popular I feel.

Paizo, I love you guys ... I mean I REALLY love you and pretty much everything you do but ... I must admit I'm really surprised you don't offer gift certificates! I know you have a million things going on, but it would seem like this would be a very important thing to put in place asap. Especially going into the Christmas holiday season!
I'm sure there is more to it than I'm thinking, but is it a question of being a lot of work, or is it more that you just don't have the time right now?

It's basically a matter of priorities. And this one is fairly high, but just hasn't hit the top yet.
(It's also not as easy as you might think, as our ordering system encompasses a lot of complex subsystems, and we're also extra careful when we're talking about new ways to take people's money. When it does reach the top of the list, it will probably take a few weeks of effort.)

I recently discovered (and reported in another thread) that the PayPal Plug-in allows you to create a multi-use credit card number that can be used on a single site. (This is in addition to the old "single-use" credit card number option.) You can now use the multi-use number as your payment option for ongoing subscriptions or any other purchases at Paizo.
As such, the easiest way for people to give you a "Paizo Gift Certificate" is to have them send you money on PayPal under the "Services/Other" category.
This isn't the fanciest or most festive solution, but it wouldn't be too hard to come up with a homemade "I did this for you" kind of card to accompany the gift.
Just a thought.
I'm looking forward to when this happens. But until then, I'm going to just keep ordering stuff and giving it/sending it to them....
