Mel seems ambivilant about sharing a room in the first place...he opts in the end for a spot on the floor alongside the bed Adjunta is using spreading his bed roll there and claiming that he doesn't want to be disturbing people as he is a light sleeper who tosses and turns in the night.
He sleeps in his armour..

He sleeps in his armour..
"You're not expecting attack here?" Adjunta asks, as the priest removes his own armour, "trust me lad you'll sleep better and you won't smell as bad. There'll be plenty of nights on the road where we won't get this luxury, trust me."

In the morning Adjunta carfully shaves his head and face. Under his veil Adjunta looks very much like an ordinary person. With his veil on the priests gains a bit of mystery.
"We should eat breakfast and perhaps buy a pack lunch," the priest says as he finishes his shaving and dawns his armour, "I hope we can make good distance today. Anyone else looking to shave?"

The common room was interesting to a point, and Ianthé was happy to retire to her room (gender hath its privileges) and took some time to read more of the cartography book under her light spell before her eyelids got too heavy to continue, undressing and falling asleep to the sounds of an unfamiliar building in an unfamiliar town.
Morning came, and the light woke her gradually, not quite out of the habit of rising with the light, and began her morning exercises. Nearly a span later, she was finishing, cleaning up and donning the outfit she had for traveling. Her robe of the previous day went back into her pack, folded tightly, trading it in for a woolen skirt and simple shirt, a light jacket going over that refastening her belt and pouches. Another span had passed as she leafed through her spellbook, a heavy tome that she had spared little expense on, a lock securing the right length of the book with a key that she kept on a thin steel chain around her neck.
The morning was coming into full swing as she gathered her equipment to head downstairs to breakfast, the bag over her shoulder and staff in her hand. Now that she had a table to work on, the others would find her with the copied map spread out and an inkwell open, making notations on the map she had copied.

Ianthé Jack
Mel received a smile and a polite nod of greeting, the sounds of various morning risers audible in the common room as people conversed, dishes clattered, and the world woke up. The piece of wide parchment that the map had been copied upon was meticulously neat, held at two corners by her mug and bowl, both of which held little trace of her prior breakfast. A small inkwell was open just to the side, the pen in Ianthé's hand idle as she referenced the small book of cartography. A small smudge of ink was visible along her jawline, and the tip of one finger was stained as well.
"I made a copy of the map we looked over before we left", she explained without preamble, brown eyes looking up at Mel for a moment before returning to the book, and then the map. "I figured since any records coming out of the location that we are heading towards was more than two decades ago, it might be prudent-- and profitable-- for us to have a more recent record."
Heren received a slightly wider smile when he came down, and a murmured 'morning', though shortly after, her attentions were drawn to her work again, looking over it with a critical eye. "I have not marked our route on here, simply because Malgasir knows his way around, though I will have to confer with him about any details he can remember about any of the areas represented on this map."
For now, she was putting her things away, a murmured arcane word and slight shake returning the ink to the well cleanly before she put the pen down and corked it, returning it to her belt pouch with the pen. The map she rolled up and returned to its case, so she was not taking up nearly the entire table, incidentally avoiding having the map marred in any way due to an accident.

Malgasir awakens from a surprisingly good night of sleep and heads down to the common room to meet his fellow travelers. Making his way to the table, he sees Ianthé's copy of the map sprawled out on the table. "Hard at work on that map, eh Ianthé? I see afew of you have already ate." Malgasir then gestures to the waiter and orders a big breakfast. "My favorite meal of the day. I look forward to another day of travel. How 'bout you?" He asks sitting down across the table from the woman.

Ianthé Jack
Malgasir, of the party so far, seems to have more in common with her by way of his approach to things. His question gets a wry grin from her and a nod. "Morning. Got a question from the woman I was sharing a room with about my direction of travel today.." Pausing for a second or so, she looked around to see if the person that she shared a room with was up and about yet. "I gave a rather vague 'passing through' response, but they're paying me for this, so I'll travel.."
A typical grunt response, really, with the shrug she gave while saying it. "I'd pull out the map to see if you can add any of the notations I've been studying, but the space is soon to be occupied by food, so I'll wait." The cartography book lay by her side on the table, and she put a hand on her staff, fingers tracing the carvings. She did pass the book to Mel, however, welcoming the assistance in notation taking. It could only help in the long run. "Mel, I welcome any assistance you can give in keeping our map as recent as possible. Help yourself to the book, if you don't know the symbols."
Leaning back in her seat, she looked around, idly thinking ahead.

You all take an hearthy breakfast ! of course it consist of bread , ale and for the really hungry ones , the stew of yesterday evening reheated .... price for the room and the "meals" is 8sp per person + 2 sp for the stabling of your wagon and beasts .
While you are eating , you can see the woman you saw yesterday and who slept in the same room as Ianthe speak first with two other tables and then approach you and ask
"Please sirs , if you are travelling North, can I travel with you even for on hour or two ? "

Adjunta Paul

"Yes, yes," Adjunta says rising, "if you would excuse us."
Adjunta gives a slight bow to his companions before following Hasim outside. Adjunta makes sure no one is near before turning to sorcerer.
"What's up Hasim?" Adjunta asks, "I trust you didn't summon me out to look at the wagon. You concerned about this woman?"

Hasim Bin Omar

"Exactly. I was just thinking how to word a polite refusal, when Heren and Mel said yes.
"Don't get me wrong. I thought the woman had an honest face... just like the man who sold me property with a fake title deed. I wonder how she knew we were going North? Did she listen in just because she wanted some protection on her journey? Or was there something more?
"But perhaps things in Taldor are different from in my own land. Perhaps the good sirs Andercrote and Evendale understand these things better than I. It's been my experience that clerics are generally wise in the way of people, so what do you think?"

Adjunta Paul

"I think it would be unwise to jump to any conclusions at this point," Adjunta advises, "this woman might be in some sort of trouble and in need of aid, or an opportunistic thief, or something else entirely. I think we would need to observe her for some time before we can make a judgment.
"Ordinarily I'd be inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt and lend her aid," the priest muses, "but we are on a holy mission here, we have been entrusted to carry it out, and I for one am not prepared to fail. Perhaps this is not a chance encounter and it is in fact divine providence, but that is very unlikely. If the woman is one who is indeed in need of aid I could never forgive myself if I didn't help her. Plus as a priest of Abadar it is my duty to give aid to travelers and promote commerce."
Adjunta turns to Hasim to see if he has anything else to add.

Hasim Bin Omar

Hasim finds Paul's argument quite persuasive, though not for all the same reasons Paul intends.
Perhaps this is not a chance encounter and it is in fact divine providence, but that is very unlikely.
Hasim smirks, reflecting that EVERYTHING is providence.
If the woman is one who is indeed in need of aid I could never forgive myself if I didn't help her. Plus as a priest of Abadar it is my duty to give aid to travelers and promote commerce.
Hasim nods. "Very well. The people of my land always preach hospitality to travellers. That's one of the many ways in which I'm different from my fellows... but perhaps they were right. And if we are to keep a eye on her, the best place to do that right now would be in the common room. Let's go back."
Returning to the inn, Hasim casually remarks "I think I'll take the next leg of the journey on foot."

Adjunta Paul

Adjunta clasps Hasim's shoulder before also returning inside as well.
"I think this is the best choice."
Adjunta sighs as he returns.
"Regrettably I am no cart wright," Adjunta says to the others, "the wagon seems fine but trust Hasim's opinion. We shall have to watch her carefully if we are to proceed."

Heren Andercrote

Returning to the inn, Hasim casually remarks "I think I'll take the next leg of the journey on foot."
'Well, you won't slow the cart down, but your more exposed to any danger we face, and you'll be wearing down your boot soles.'
'There's lots of folk may be dangerous towards a Qadiran walking the Empire's roads. Not that I'd allow anyone safety to come to risk, but it may be attracting trouble, unless you want to dress Taldan. Which is to say shave or dress noble.'

Ianthé Jack
Not entirely pleased about accepting a civilian on a job, however temporary it was intended to be-- and it would be temporary-- Ianthé did relax the slightest bit at the surface explanation but that did not ease any idle suspicion, nor did she discuss plans while Ellissia was traveling with them. She did keep an ear open for details, though. Grandmother knows, the land itself was not going to talk, and miles upon miles made for a rather boring tableau.

robin
Prompted by Heren , Ellissia explains the following story
"She has just been to Oppara for the funeral of her uncle Carsey . She hoped to have a part of the inheritance since her uncle was childless since as a piemaker , she hopes to take a part of a market stall when she will have the money but the only inheritance she add was a necklace which is not even beautiful . During the funeral , she was pestered in the cimetery by a man who wanted to know her intentions but he was a bit too insistant and Ellissia did not trust him . She left during the day but the man followed here to the inn . It is not that she is sure he intended to continue to follow her but she preferred to travel with you a bit just to be sure with you "

Adjunta Paul

"There are few of us that want to reveal our entire stories," the priest says nodding, "not to strangers anyways, and especially not when we think our selves wronged by the other party. I suspect she knows this man better then she claims, that he is not a stranger to her, but as too their exact history who can say? People become very strange when money is involved."

robin
An hour pass and Ellissia will take leave of you saying she wants to reach Sehir as soon as possible and tht she is now sure that the clerk is not following her anymore
Adjunta
You can't be sure but there was indeed an element of expectation in Ellissia . She was trying to judge your reactions to her story and your reactions or lack of it is why she is leaving you . As to her story, you think there might have been an element of rehearsal but again you are not sure of it
You continue your travels and 3 days later finally reach Sehir . The trip was quiet and the only negative points were the food and accomodations at the inns you stopped at .
So plans in sehir ?

Adjunta Paul

"Well," Adjunta says after they had parted company with the lady, "I hate to say it, but I am glad to see her leave. Something didn't quite feel right. She seemed sincere but so can the great actors of the stage. Either way we have an important mission to do and we can't afford to be side tracked."
When they reach Sehir Adjunta advises them to top up any supplies and to check the local tavern for any rumors. Travelers tend to talk and knowing if there are any dangers on the road ahead would be wise.

Ianthé Jack
"Ugh", Ianthé said with a sigh as she got out of the cart, happy to be able to stretch her legs again, rueing the fact that she had left Oppara before securing at least one scroll. The ability to conjure her own mount would have been nice. "Another inn, another night.." As she stretched, she looked around Sehir, assessing the town.
"Malgasir, would you mind if I asked for your expertise to help me flesh out the notations on this map?" Leaning on the staff once she finished stretching, Ianthé waited until she was no longer lightheaded, and then headed towards the door, carrying her pack with her. She would have to ask the innkeeper about any local hunters.. She could get a bit more detail of the local area that way.
She had dozed off several times in the cart, only to be jostled awake by the bumps in the road, so this night she would perhaps be in the common room a fair bit longer than usual tonight.

robin
I forgot to say but Adjunta could of course find a berth at the temple of Abadar and Heren as a cavalier could ask a place at the temple of Iomedae
Mel does not find anyone knowing Elissia which strikes him as strange .
As for the travel ahead , you 'll leran that a group as numerous as yours and with no merchandises should deter bandits . Now the canal is not as used as you might have thought , the nobles ahead taxing it heavily . What's more , the commerce between Sehir and Cassomir is quasi inexistant , most people sending their goods to Oppara but you should be able to find a barge going back empty if you wait for some days . Otherwise you allways have the choice to move with your wagon following the canals .

Adjunta Paul

"Perhaps the young lady was a thief then," Adjunta muses, "good work by the way Mel, but now we have to ask what she was really after? Was she just a chance encounter, a young vagabond after coin, or is someone aware of our mission? If she were on horse she could have easily gotten ahead of us. She was in Ianthé's room and Ianthé has our maps."
Adjunta stands, "Regardless we should warn the others," he says, "there is a possibility that our mission has been compromised."

Adjunta Paul

"No offense," Adjunta says, "but I can't condone putting a young man in the room of a lady, no matter how much I trust him. It is a pity that we don't have any other woman in the group but we must make do with what we have. I am married and have some experience with women. ! shall see if any of the others members of the group are married so we can share with the guard duty."
