I'm creating this thread in an attempt to plea for help. I've scoured the internet trying to find information and I simply cannot find what I'm looking for. So, as a last resort, I turn to you, the Paizo community, for help. Can anyone tell me any information, or point me to a site, about making dice? Not paper dice, or formed aluminum foil, but actual dice. I've looked for how-to's, searched wikipedia, and tried to find dice molds. Does anyone out there know this apparently forbidden secret?

There is a show called "How It's Made" on Discovery Channel I think. You could try to see if they made an episode dealing with dice. I have seen others dealing with other gambling devices, so maybe you can get lucky. And if they havent done one on dice, they take episode suggestions....

Most dice are made using an injection molding method. Unless you spend a couple hundred thousand dollars for a machine and supplies that method is out. I have seen couple of dice makers that will make custom dice for customers but you would be limited to the standard D&D die set. I'll see if I can find those sites for you.

Thank you both! Any info would be most appreciated. I'm trying to find out what it takes to make my own dice. Let's just say I have a few friends that like an idea I had involving dice, and I'm trying to find out how to make them without going on such a grand scale as to get that equipment that would cost hundreds of thousands. I heard of a mold making kit, once upon a time, and wondered if that would work. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

My pleasure. Here's to the memory of a great writer!
Yes, indeed!
Thanks everyone for the info so far! I'm hoping to find, at least, some hints or tips on actually making them. I noticed on one of the links provided, it mentions people making them on a smaller scale, before industrialization made it easier to mass produce dice. I've talked to a friend and he suggested a mold making kit, but have no idea where I'd find something like that.

Try a hobby shop that specializes in resin modeling like RC planes, they might have something you could use.
