For example, this thread was talking about voting. Well one of the concerns for Reps is that only those who are legal able to, should vote (i.e. voter fraud is a concern). While for the Dems one of the concerns is that everyone who legal has a right to vote gets a chance to (i.e. disenfranchisement is a concern). The fact is, both of these are legitimate issues and both are things that every single voting citizen should care about. Dismissing one aspect or the other is doing a disservice to everyone.
This is what I value about our party system, and what I think happens when one side gets too much of a voice as opposed to the other side. While we'd like to point fingers to the left or the right for the current situation, I think the real truth is that we've flip-flopped between strong left to strong right instead of taking the more rational median road. I am afraid that, regardless of the fact that the balance has shifted again, has it shifted too far to the left?

Rather respond piece by piece to your reply, which would be rather frustrating, I'm just going to quote myself:
No, I will:
Do you know what the difference between government borrowing heavily to fund massive public works programs -- with the requisite expenditures on labor, materials, tools, and heavy equipment -- and government borrowing heavily to fund massive war efforts -- with the requisite expenditures on labor, materials, tools, and heavy equipment -- is? Because I don't.
You do not understand, and you want to defend your ignorance.
If you insist, I agree that you have won - you have proven you do not understand the subject.I'd just bail out of this conversation if I was you, because you look pretty silly, and you certainly aren't going to get a fair response from me, what with me now thinking your blinded by ideology and not very good at following a conversation, and thus not really worth talking to.
So after confessing to ignorance and attempting to defend your ignorance, you now move to admitting you do not intend to respond fairly.
Once again I must concede to you being the superior blind ideologue. So I will leave you to your ignorance; you are not worth trying to educate.

Do not bother.
Once people admit to having no intention of discussing something honestly I let them wallow. There is no way I can top that.He wins, he does not understand the economic concepts, and nobody can inform him otherwise.
And popcorn probably qualifies as Gamer Vitamin P.

you should do what I did when I was a teenager, just give up fast food and snacking for a month. you'll be amazed how unnapetizing the stuff is when you actually go back to eating it.
Fast food is actually pretty bad tasting stuff, but we have a culture that makes it the best option a lot of times and so our taste buds develop to start liking it.
Like when people start eating those pre-packaged weight loss meals, at first they are gross but after a while they start finding ones they like and pretty soon they like them all.
I f##*in' hate fast food. I only eat it in circumstances of dire need.
It's probably why I look so damn sexy... heh heh... (5'11", 165 lbs)

I'm not saying that at all, I think our government is terribly inneficient. It's the statement, "other countries that have more socialist agenda's that do it better" They do it better because they have to spend less spread out over a smaller demographic. You can't compare a country like USA to a country like Norway, or Brittain. the closest is Canada, but even then they have a smaller population.
I get what you're saying and respect it.
Intuitively it seems to me that a bigger country is better equipped to have an efficient system, but alas it doesn't work like that in reality....

So I heard that McCain's people prepped Palin for her interviews.
One of them said she thought Africa was a country and didn't know what NAFTA was.
I'm frankly amazed that she survived infancy, and even more that she was elected as governor of Alaska.
I like John McCain. However, with his choice for VP, coupled with the probability of his dying in office if elected, firmly cemented my decision to vote for another candidate.

Dude, you just cut my comment and half to remove the part where I specifically mentioned tractors. and the part where I specifically mentioned shovels as well. What exactly do you think "labor, materials, tools, and heavy equipment" refers to?
TRACTORS!

I find it pretty funny that you're claiming I'm ignornat and don't understand when you argued that you can't convert tractor factories into tractor factories, displayed total ignorance of the PWA, and are now trying to bullshit your way out of the hole you've dug by manipulating quotes.

I prefer Vitamin C(aramel) fortified Caffeine.Still, I suspect there are people out there who would get misty eyed over Cheese-Dew.

It is so uplifting to see that the politics of personal destruction are still alive and well. To quote our new president elect, "That's not change, that's more of the same."

Leave the woman alone. She maybe a dim bulb but she don't deserve to be trashed like she is. I don't like her but she deserves better treatment, everybody deserves better treatment than she is receiving. She lost there isn't any reason for the public berating her further. Have some common decency let her scuttle back to Alaska and let her state and party deal with her inappropriate behavior.

Okay.
Sarah Palin might not win a Nobel Prize for any work in DNA sequencing any time soon.I'm having a hard time eating this one though, because she can't be that stupid. I saw a full transcript of the Charlie Gibson interview which they edited to dumb her down, and I have a hard time swallowing the Africa one. Then there was the interview where the interviewer said the Wall Street Journal called her stupid, quoting totally out of context. I think the liberal "news"media is overreaching with their spin tactics this time. I think a lot of those guys need to remember the cry wolf story from kindygarten.
Sarah Palin wears a special helmet too, so she doesn't hit her head into the wall.
Oh, and then there was the CNN correspondent that thought the bikini/rifle interweb pic was real.
BTW, if Sarah Palin said the Indian accent thing that Joe Biden said, she would have been mercilessly savaged by the press. Wow. Then they'd have actually had something substantive to smear her with.
Biden,....well, he just says goofy shit. Whatever; we're the media. We can bury it. HEY! SARAH WENT SHOPPING FOR CLOTHES!!!

Good thing she's just governor of Alaska. It's like managing a putt putt golf course with grizzly bears.

I'm really disappointed that this one hasn't taken off, I'm mean I'm not even half way through my case of beer...
I know! What's the world coming to if someone's masculinty, competence, and reputation can be challenged on the internet without repudiation?
Maybe this really is a new era of the politics of unity...
When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
The age of Aquarius
Aquarius!
Aquarius!
Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
Mystic crystal revalation
And the mind's true liberation
Aquarius!
Aquarius!
When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius

Whoa... whoa...down woofie. There is a long list of both Rep. and Dem., mostly Dem. that weren’t the brightest crayon in the box and they all did decent jobs being Governor or senator or whatever there post was. I agree with you about the most outrageous claims of her stupidity being false. I'm just saying let her go back to her job in her own state and stop crucifying her in the press. If she decides to keep in the public eye then all bets are off but she still needs to treated with a greater respect.

Hey did you here, now that the election is over, her husband came out and said that he has to dress her every morning or she tries to leave the house with pants as a shirt and goloshes instead of shoes.
Yeah, unsubstantiated rumors mean she must be a complete tool. You know she only runs an entire state with a decent approval rating and aparently good fiscal policy, what a moron.
