For example, this thread was talking about voting. Well one of the concerns for Reps is that only those who are legal able to, should vote (i.e. voter fraud is a concern). While for the Dems one of the concerns is that everyone who legal has a right to vote gets a chance to (i.e. disenfranchisement is a concern). The fact is, both of these are legitimate issues and both are things that every single voting citizen should care about. Dismissing one aspect or the other is doing a disservice to everyone.

This is what I value about our party system, and what I think happens when one side gets too much of a voice as opposed to the other side. While we'd like to point fingers to the left or the right for the current situation, I think the real truth is that we've flip-flopped between strong left to strong right instead of taking the more rational median road. I am afraid that, regardless of the fact that the balance has shifted again, has it shifted too far to the left?

Once again I must concede to you being the superior blind ideologue.

Trying to beat the guy from Super Size Me?

you should do what I did when I was a teenager, just give up fast food and snacking for a month. you'll be amazed how unnapetizing the stuff is when you actually go back to eating it.

Fast food is actually pretty bad tasting stuff, but we have a culture that makes it the best option a lot of times and so our taste buds develop to start liking it.

Like when people start eating those pre-packaged weight loss meals, at first they are gross but after a while they start finding ones they like and pretty soon they like them all.

I f##*in' hate fast food. I only eat it in circumstances of dire need.

I'm not saying that at all, I think our government is terribly inneficient. It's the statement, "other countries that have more socialist agenda's that do it better" They do it better because they have to spend less spread out over a smaller demographic. You can't compare a country like USA to a country like Norway, or Brittain. the closest is Canada, but even then they have a smaller population.

I get what you're saying and respect it.

Intuitively it seems to me that a bigger country is better equipped to have an efficient system, but alas it doesn't work like that in reality....

I'm frankly amazed that she survived infancy, and even more that she was elected as governor of Alaska.

I like John McCain. However, with his choice for VP, coupled with the probability of his dying in office if elected, firmly cemented my decision to vote for another candidate.

Okay.

Sarah Palin might not win a Nobel Prize for any work in DNA sequencing any time soon.
I'm having a hard time eating this one though, because she can't be that stupid. I saw a full transcript of the Charlie Gibson interview which they edited to dumb her down, and I have a hard time swallowing the Africa one. Then there was the interview where the interviewer said the Wall Street Journal called her stupid, quoting totally out of context. I think the liberal "news"media is overreaching with their spin tactics this time. I think a lot of those guys need to remember the cry wolf story from kindygarten.
Sarah Palin wears a special helmet too, so she doesn't hit her head into the wall.
Oh, and then there was the CNN correspondent that thought the bikini/rifle interweb pic was real.

BTW, if Sarah Palin said the Indian accent thing that Joe Biden said, she would have been mercilessly savaged by the press. Wow. Then they'd have actually had something substantive to smear her with.
Biden,....well, he just says goofy shit. Whatever; we're the media. We can bury it. HEY! SARAH WENT SHOPPING FOR CLOTHES!!!

Whoa... whoa...down woofie. There is a long list of both Rep. and Dem., mostly Dem. that weren’t the brightest crayon in the box and they all did decent jobs being Governor or senator or whatever there post was. If she decides to keep in the public eye then all bets are off but she still needs to treated with a greater respect.
