Are 3.x games getting harder to find?

At my last Pfrpg beta game, a new player joined us for the CotCT AP. He stated that 3.x campaigns are difficult to find in his area (Los Angeles) with everyone playing 4E.

Has anyone else encountered the same difficulty?

I can't vouch for everyone or everywhere, but I just moved and am finding next to nothing near me now as far as 3.x homegroups or people up for it.

I did find a gameday at the FLGS where the website had said they would be playing some of the Pathfinder OP mods one saturday. But when I went in, they were all playing 4E instead.

Sadly, I didn't have enough points left to activate my rage power Upend Gametable. I just ended up getting Dairy Queen and going back home.

round here gaming of any type is hard to come by, but when ya do find it it's 3.5.

Liberty's Edge

My local gaming store only has a 4th edition game going. Luckily my friends and I all love 3.x so we're sticking with that. If you're in our area (GTA; if you know what that means you're close enough) you could probably join our home game.

I haven't looked into new groups much recently, but some threads here have lead me to believe that there are pockets of 4E players and pockets of 3.X/PFRPG players... in some places its hard to find 4E games, and in some places its hard to find 3.X/PFRPG games.

Not for me. When I asked around at my school about a D&D game, those who agreed did so on the condition that it not be a 4e game.

From what I've seen (also in the GTA), there are more new 4E campaigns that 3.X, but there are certainly quite a number of existing 3.X campaigns.

I posted a notice at a local store on the outer limits of town and it took about 2 months to get any kind of response. Then the game died due to lack of interest. Luckily I found this site and found the game I am playing in on Sunday. We are playing PF Beta rules adn using the AP's. Right now we have RotRL and 2ndD.

So yes, I would say that finding a good group to play with is difficult to do.

I live in an area that supports two game stores, while one is closer to me than the other, they both can be considered "local"...

The one closest to me has gone 4e all the way (with not a single 3.x game in sight)... :-(

The other store has people playing both, with more 3.x than 4e...

Of course my home game is 3.x (3.0, 3.5, Pathfinder, d20, OGL, it doesn't mater, I use whatever I find interesting)... :-)
