My party, as soon as they saw the sick girl, started running around telling everyone and anyone that a plague was coming. And the wizard has pretty much assumed, correctly, where the plague originated, because he was there to see the trebuchet do its job. Wierd coincedence.
I'm trying to decide what the likely outcome of this is going to be. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone. The priests of every religion, the elven embassy, the Guard and the Scarzni. Probably Orisini too, in the very near future.

My own group quickly deduced a plague was on its way and suspect the ship as well, blaming rats and fleas for the latest ill to fall Korvosa.
Given their mostly evil alignment they were uncertain about helping Orsini with the mission he charged them with, however, with the offer of a Wand of Cure Disease they were sold, although Thed wanted to hand her over, impressed by the "body" of evidence :)

How would you, as a person, react to a bunch of people runing around screaming "there is going to be a plague and we know, because we saw a sick girl!"? I,for example, woild have called the guys with the white suits.
I don't think anybody should take the PC's warning too sireaously, not even their friends. however, when plague does eruepts, peaople will demand some answers from the PC's- how have they known? how could it be stoped? who are they, anyway? and there might even be a lynch at them.

Right now I'm having the Scarzni basically self-quarantine Land's End, since it quickly becomes obvious that illness is there. As for the Guard, on the one hand the party has proven pretty reliable to them, but on the other hand they're completely unaware of any cases. So they're promising to investigate and that's it.
The elf would have come across as a pretty unreliable source to the elven embassy and the various clergy, so at this point I'm thinking at the most both parties are just politely inquiring as to whether there are any problems or not. Again, no proof yet. As for Orisini, he has no reason to doubt the party, despite the couple of members with drug problems, and I would imagine he'd warn his students, but I don't think that will spread too far.
The Varisian wizard has adopted a pretty big "screw the Chelaxians" attitude. He really only cares about protecting the Varisian population. The rest are hardly all that altruistic.

My group quickly went after the ship as well and it nearly killed them. I let them convince the Abadaran to help them and 4 Level 4 characters almost got themselves toasted by what's down there.
They know what's up, but they still need to try and save the city as no one else is going to do it for them.

Given that some people will pay attention to the PCs, and take action earlier, 'just in case', I would award them some extra lives saved with what is to come; those with the resources who regard the PCs as being sincere may get in wands and be more vigilent for the outbreak of trouble, and some merchants might take the risk of putting in orders for batches of potions, before everyone is running at full stretch.

Not quite sure if this is a DM talking, or a player, so I'll use the Spoiler hide.
This is pretty much irrelevant to the plot of Seven Days. Nothing anyone does at this point can stop the plague.
The ship, in fact, is NOT the source of the plague. It is a red herring. Read the adventure background introduction again.
In fact, the bad guys WANT you to think the plague came from the ship as it hides the real reason behind the plague (the tainted silver coins originally deeposited in the Bank of Abadar that has been circulating throughout the city for a while now.)
By the time the little girl has the plague - the first scene in the adventure - the plague has already spread all over the city. People are already infected, they simply have not developed the symptons yet.
So let them "seal" themselves in. Guess what - they and the people they are with are possibly already infected. They are going to die anyway. In fact, I'd have one NPC in particular thank the PCs for the "warning" - specifically someone in the Carowyn noble family.
Rather than fight the players actions on this, I'd have it succeed wildly. As evidence of the disease proves the PCs warning, it starts a panic. Food prices skyrocket as everyone buys as much as they can. Food riots start as merchants outside the city decide to avoid the plague (of course, some smuggling will no doubt occur at exorbitant prices meaning only the rich and well off can feed themselves).
Supplies of any other perishable or vital item likewise becomes scarce - heating oil, firewood, medical supplies, etc as people hoard them for personal use.
People panic quite easily. Because the PCs are busy yelling at everyone they know that there's a plague, there is no time for responsible authorities to deal with the situation calmly. The masses panic.
In fact, I think Queen Ileosa would love that the PCs have fallen into her trap. By focusing on the ship, they shouldn't realize a hidden force is responsible for the plague within the city. Plus the PCs have started a mass panic that complicates the situation.
I'd have Queen Ileosa publicly thank them for warning the city while there is still time. In fact, she has summoned additional help from Cheliax, a certain Dr Davaulus. Hopefully, he will arrive soon...
In fact, now that the ship has been identified as the source of the plague, she can arrange for it to be quarantined or sequestered. The new Queen's Physicians will take personal responsibility for it. Seal it off. That will complicate things immensely as the PCs probably won't investigate it, or at least delay their investigation.
Remember that the critical clue that links the plague to the Queen's Physicians is that the corpse on the ship Direption actually has a mask like the Queen's Physicians. Assuming the PCs find it, the Physicians can attempt to bamboozle people, "Well, when we investigated the ship, we lost one of our members, that's who you found. We think the sea hag killed him." or some other such excuse.
I'm sure the PCs will figure things out eventually, but their quick "trigger finger" can help the DM set this adventure.

Or, then again, if you want to, you could go the way that Black Fox suggests.... :D
Personally, I'm not sure that most groups of player characters will have earned enough public attention yet to have quite the impact that Black Fox suggests (although certain authorities might by their natures be inclined to take note and act accordingly) but it depends how events in Edge of Anarchy played out in your campaign.
Edit:
And I had forgotten the bank too. (D'oh.)
