Spell Rage and Frenzy - Just how does the Barbarian's Rage Points affect these abilities?

I don't know if this question has been brought up at all, but how exactly does frenzy (frenzied berserker prc) and spell rage (rage mage prc) function with the barbarian rage operating with a point based system? Do you just take the abilities and make them new options under the rage power tree? That would work for frenzy (as you can rage and frenzy at the same time), but not for spell rage (which does not allow for both to be usable at the same time).

Ow man, since this is not the basic D&D, probably not open content, the PF team won't work on this. This does not means that the people here can't work. It may be hard, however.

Now, while I love this rage points system this makes me think if the backwards compatibility went to hell in this example...

I understand that the frenzied berserker and the rage mage are not open content, but I do have players that make use of these classes and they've asked me about it. I couldn't give them an answer, so I pose the question here. They love the rage point mechanic as much as I do, so they would love to see how this would work out. As would I.

It may be best to have the two provide Rage Points that can be used on existing abilities, or to construct Costs for the power in question.

I'm sorry that I cannot offer more assistance than that.

While the Rage Point system is nice, Backward Compatibility is negatively affected.

I've been giving this some thought. Yeah, I know that they may be going another way entirely with the rage mechanic, but I figured 'what the hey?'

I think I'm going to allow the 2 + Con modifier in rage points/lvl that the barbarian gets after first to apply to both prestige classes, since they require lvls of barbarian as a prerequisite for entry.

For rage mage, the 'moment of clarity' rage power will be a prerequisite. Also, the spell rage will cost 1 point to enter and rather than giving the rage mage an extra rage per day, they get the Extra Rage feat.

I think everything else will be fine as far as the other abilities for that PrC go.

Still trying to figure things out for frenzied berserker. But if anyone else beats me to it, that's all good too.
