I spent a while looking for another thread along these lilnes. I know it exists just can't find it so we make this one instead for now.
Just went to FLGS and picked up their last copy of the Pathfinder Beta RPG. I was talking with the store owner and expressed my surprise that they had ordered any books. The main store clerk had told me there had been no real interest in Pathfinder so they would not order any RPGs.
The owner was surprised as well. This was their second large order and I got the last copy. They can not keep the books on the shelf. So we discussed the situation and the clerk is a huge fan of 4E and HATES that horrible primitive 3.x system so we figure he has been spreading some bad word about Pathfinder. I know he has to me, and he knows I am a huge fan of Pathfinder.
Anyway, good news is, regardless of bad mouthing by 4E fan boys, Pathfinder is flying off the shelves!

My FLGS has a Pathfinder stand all to itself now ... 4E and various 3.5 books sit stuffed and mixed together on a shelf, and Pathfinder in all it's glory (and map packs, item cards, and a couple of Planet Stories books) is prominently front and center of the RPG section.
I'm on their weekly 'new and re-stocked' email list and there's always some Paizo product on there.

I do know they have not had to reorder their 4E books yet. They had several preorders and the first week did real well, but the excitement has died off. They don't have many books left, but they do have some from their original order.
Course I could beat that one guy for lying about Pathfinder. Not the only time I have had problems with him on this topic. He told a buddy of mine, who picked up the 2nd to last PRPG, that Pathfinder was the worst thing to happen to RPG industry and it needed to fail before it causes the entire industry to collapse. BTW he is a BUSINESS MAJOR! Not sure what they teach in school these days, but don't wanna hire anyone from there...

IRT the idiot business major, just because you have a degree doesn't mean you know what you're talking about.
As for pathfinder, my FLGS actually got their hands on a copy of the Beta, which I promptly bought. I sorta felt bad, like maybe I should leave it for someone else to discover, after all I do have the PDF. But my dwarven greed won out in the end.

Please don't view that idiot as representative of all Business Majors, some of us actually worked hard to gain our degree.
Btw, is that idiot still employed at the store? It sounds to me like he is unfit to work at a store where he is telling people NOT to buy product.

I can say that I've had to reorder 4E pretty consistently since it came out. I have just discovered Pathfinder (my first game is next Saturday) but I am working on getting more product in my store. My main distributor is OUT of the beta at the moment. I asked about it last week and got a "sorry, sold out" response. I think there is room in the market for both products as they are both excellent.

I was pleasantly surprised to find Pathfinder in my FLGS today. If I hadn't already bought it online, (and if I had the $ for a second copy), I would've picked it up myself (to support Pathfinder and my FLGS).
I was surprised because my FLGS is pretty heavily biased towards True20 (another reason I like them a lot), and while they have been ho-hum about 4e, they do display it pretty prominently.
So I was pretty pleased when I saw Pathfinder, front and center on the new releases rack, with only one copy left.
