"Can anyone fix this little man? He cute....but he hurt..he can't fight, we need fight!" says Gunnom appraising the situation
Gunnom rummages in Jakies possesions for a curative potion...if she finds one she will administer it to him defensively
Gunnom can easily find potions in LJs bag. The question is which one to feed him.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Gunnom takes a potion at random from LJ's supply and force feeds it to him. Blue and sparkly has to be good, right? Nothing bad could ever come from drinking something blue and sparkly. As luck would have it, blue and sparkly is a curative. LJ can roll the die for this.
Lord Flash has been picking the zombies apart but he's only one monk.
Tallis now stands near the center of the room next to Gunnom and LJ.
Ilil is dead and Drunk Monk has not been heard from since he fell down the pit. Well, you might have heard a scream followed by munching sounds.

Lord Flash |

Lord continues to hack away at the Zombies around him, a maniacal gleam in his eye as his strikes become more and more vicious.
Man IC is down again! Hopefully they're fixing my Character dropdown history with a new update!
Swift Action: Activate Dodge
Full Action: Flurry of Blows
8 Rounds left. (I think I am a Round ahead, not sure)
Flurry of Blows. (1d20+6) 18+6= 24; (1d20+6) 4+6= 10.
Flurry of Blows Damage. (1d6) 5

Ms Gunnom |

"You cute! we have drink later?" starts Gunnom but then takes a leaping monkey pose and strikes at a nearby zombie.
1d20+6=18, 1d6+3=7 attack and damage:unarmed strike. I would have flurried but I'm assuming I had to move a little to hit one. also if it's out of turn just apply it to next turn :)

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

EDIT: I guess Tallis should be in I4.
Lord Flash kills one of the zombies but another steps forward to take its place. Gunnom finds that zombies do not seem to mind being punched very much. Tallis' kama pokes a belly releasing putrid gases.
The zombies continue to flail uselessly at Lord Flash. One of them turns on Gunnom as she attacks but does not connect. Tallis takes a heavy fist in the chest. 3 pts damage.
Initiative:
Lord Flash
Gunnom
Tallis
LJ
Zombies

Lil' Jakie |

Ms Gunnom |

Gunnom whips her masterwork Kama back out with a cry of "You Stinky!!"
and excutes a blinding, if a bit wild, series of moves with it culminating in the 4th degree Leaping Monkey style attack "Mandrill's Chapped Ass"
Flurry of Blows with Kama 1d20+4=7, 1d6+3=5, 1d20+4=13, 1d6+3=7
craptacular! Maybe a 13 hits (that's my optimistic voice)

Tallis Kotellos |

Tallis lashes out again at the undead hoard.
Fluury of Blows: 1d20+3=15, 1d6+3=4, 1d20+3=20, 1d6+3=9

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Gunnom and Tallis finish off zombies they had attacked previously. The zombies are, fortunately, completely lacking in any of the martial abilities their clothes suggest they once trained in.
Gunnom gets hit by a heavy fist but the rest of the living manage to avoid taking any more damage. 4 points of damage Gunnom.
I think Lord Flash said he was ahead of initiative for one round. If that's so, then he isn't now. New round.
Initiative:
Lord Flash
Gunnom
Tallis
LJ
Zombies

Lord Flash |

Lord takes another quick swing at the Zombie ahead of him before retreating back to the edge of the water pit.
Attack Zombie with Masterwork Kama. (1d20+6=22)
Damage. (1d6=1) well that was pitiful...
"Can theses things swim?"
Swift Action: Activate Dodge
Standard Action: Attack Zombie
Move Action: Move straight back to Water Pit (I5, I4, I3)
7 rounds of Shield left.

Tallis Kotellos |

Tallis slashes at one of the undead before quickly moving back.
Attack, Acrobatics roll to tumble to J6: 1d20+5=7, 1d6+3=6, 1d20+8=21

Ms Gunnom |

Personally, I keep posting long after most pbp's are dead, there's always hope! But I'm just filling in...I only have half a vote....though I did think this was a cool idea, and originally wasn't it more a mechanics test of sorts than a true full on game? How are those sandwiches coming?

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

I agree, find something you would be willing to run, and I will be there. Yes, even if that makes us wander the world like a monastic A-Team.
Have you guys read a lot of Dungeon? There are a couple of adventures I've got an eye on that might work for a stealthy infiltration type group.

Have you guys read a lot of Dungeon?
Yes and no.
I only have a few of the issues from the Paizo era but from about '88 till about '94 I read every issue.
Though in truth, you could use any number of adventures from older issues and I wouldn't remember a lot of the details.

Have you guys read a lot of Dungeon? There are a couple of adventures I've got an eye on that might work for a stealthy infiltration type group.
I've got from #25-#62 (give or take a couple of issues) in the 2e era.
I've got from #123-#150 (give or take a couple of issues) in the 3.5 era.I got out or RPing in the missing Issues and am kicking myself for not continuintg to buy both Dragon and Dungeon in those intervening years.
That doesn't necessarily mean I've read every Adventure, but chances are I have at least skimmed it. In saying that my age addled memory may not have the energy to bring that information into somewhere approaching conscious thought, so you're probably going to be pretty safe...

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Well, I'd be changing them as I go anyhow ... the levels are a bit off and as it would be 'more martial' some changes might be necessary. Let's get you out of here, anyways.
The zombies in the fire stumble as their rotting flesh hisses and pops. They are too distracted by feeling warmth for the first time in years to hit Tallis. Being both magically protected and agile, Lord Flash is able to avoid being hit by clumsy but powerful fists. One of the zombies near Gunnom manages to land what would be a skullcrackingly heavy hit but Gunnom's Kama interrupts it at the last moment. 4 hp damage on what was a confirmed critical.
With a couple of zombies having fallen between Lord Flash and the portcullises to the south, an exit has presented itself. It may be possible to escape this way but not without passing dangerously close to several of the zombie horde.
There is an exit if you want it. The AoO would probably not kill you.

Lil' Jakie |

I too head for the door, ducking and weaving to avoid being hit.
Acrobatic Dodging and Weaving: (1d20+12=21)

Tallis Kotellos |

Seeing everyone else run to the door, Tallis runs to the door, dodgeing the zombies' blows with the greatest of ease.
Activating Dodge, Acrobatics: 1d20+8=27 Why do I only seem to roll well for Acrobatics?

Ms Gunnom |

Ms. Gunnom, if you were interested, would you want to run up another character, or are you overbooked with PbPs anyhow?
Life in general is beating me up. PHD's COC(New York) game died (He had an opening in the Paranoia game, but I've never done that, and I wouldn't want to slow down the hilarity-if you haven't read any of that thread it's real funny) And Treasure Hunt's been over for a while. This was my taking-up-the-gamer-slack-game so....er I'm game.
I was all set to win this arena by getting to the middle and defending myself till the zombies were beat and well fed on my comrades, but I got all conscience-y at the sight of the defenseless halfling. I've been avoiding the AP PBP's because I'm playing ROTRL in a maptool game and someday we'll be moving into another AP (in about 2035 by my estimation) I have all the Savage Tide issues of Dungeon and a few more random ones. Apart from the STAP "modules" (I'm running them in a sort of family game)I haven't really studied other Dungeons in there so I'd be good there. So what's this party need? How about a monk?.....Brother Maynard bring forth the Holy Handgrenade of Antioch
Gunnom rushes back and leaps onto the platform in the middle once again.
"Go ahead! Run from stinky men! I beat them all for glory of Leaping Monkey!! I make Illil proud!"
1d20+8=24 Acro to jump into the middle again...Gunnom stays to fight

Tallis Kotellos |

(He had an opening in the Paranoia game, but I've never done that, and I wouldn't want to slow down the hilarity-if you haven't read any of that thread it's real funny)
Hey, thanks for the complement, baby. Really, you don't need to know any of the rules to play a Paranoia game. You just need an unwavering faith in Friend Computer! If you want I could see if we could shove you in somehow.
-Yossa-R-IAN-1
Ms Gunnom |

I've actually directed people that have no clue as to rpg's to that thread for it's craziness alone. But I actually rolled(via generator) up a character but it wasn't the rules that deterred me...it was the hilarity...I would struggle to remain so ferocioUsly funny. (THAT'S like work)

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

As Tallis, L.J. and Lord Flash deftly avoid attacks from slow and heavy-handed zombies, Gunnom is surrounded and brought to the ground.
The three monks exit through the open porticullis and almost run smack into five Greycloaks--the district guards of the Ascendant Court district. "Stop," yells one. "Drop your weapons ... and your, umm, ... fists. We heard there was .... a ... ahhh ... BY CALISTRIA'S HONEYED HIVE! Are they eating him? ... Her?"
You hear munching sounds behind you.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

That sounds interesting, actually.
Tallis tucks the kama into his belt and raises his hands. "Alright, please tell us you have some way to deal with these things? Magic, clerics, explosives, lots of swords, anything!"
"They're eating him!" repeats one of the Greycloaks.
Blood sprays from Gunnom's neck and splatters the Greycloak Captain's face. Behind you one of the Greycloaks vomits noisily.
"Clerics? No. We're agnostic. It's a condition of hiring," he hits a lever that drops the porticullis into place closing trapping the zombies in with the bodies of Gunnom and Ilil. "What? She's obviously dead! Look at all that blood! ... We'll get reinforcements."
The Greycloak behind him vomits again.

Bandle K'nana |

Excuse this interference in the game thread, but the discussion thread must be archived and I have no idea how to find it (YOU try "recent posts by Tarren Dei"!! Mr 3001-and that's only DM)I think it's high-epic pts buy and we're 3rd level, do I use table 14-9 on pg.338 of the beta for gp (1200)? other than that...I was thinking on being another representative of Leaping Monkey come to find out errant students...but insert as necessary....------> Gnome monk (as unlikey a monk as ever was IMO)
