Sorry, didn't realize it was a new round for some reason.
Tallis sends another flurry of blows at Ilil.
1d20+2=11, 1d20+2=22, 1d6+3=8, doubled to 16 damage, I think.
His first punch goes wide, which just gives Tallis an opening to punch the elf right in the face.

If you are doubling for a crit, you need to confirm the crit first and then you can roll for the damage again and add it in.

Surprisingly, the clawed monster in the pool with Ms. Gunnom doesn't manage to land a claw on her. By now she has recognized the creature as a reefclaw. She's seen them in the market but knows little about them.
Unless you want to make a knowledge (nature) or intelligence check to prove me wrong.
---------------------
As foot-dragging monks in stained and tattered robes drag their rotting corpses towards the gates at the west side of the room, you find yourselves surrounded by the undead. Zombies now block every exit from this room.
The gate in the middle of the south wall (J0) slowly begins to open.
New round.
Lord Flash
Tarren the Dungeon Master
Sorry, forgot about the conformation: 1d20+2=18 Only 8 damage, then.
I believe Ilil has 1 hp left.
Ms Gunnom
Gunnom strikes again with the masterwork Kama
that would be 3 damge if it hits, again fighting defensively
swim ck not so good (it's STR based so there even might have been a poison penalty involved-but no need the dice took care of that) AC=19 without the dodge
1d20+7=19 Perception (if necessary)
Tarren the Dungeon Master
The gates on the south have opened halfway and continue to open. The gates on the east wall begin to scrape up as well. The undead do not wait patiently for the gate to lift but begin to crawl underneath, allowing the spikes of the portcullis to scrape putrifying flesh from their backs without concern. The hiss and groan as they straighten out and begin to make their ways towards you. There are at least ten zombies to the south. Maybe more if others are deeper in the corridors.

The damage to the reefclaw is surely fatal but it continues to attack. It's own blood and bits of flesh in the water seem to only increase its ferocious appetite. It slashes at Gunnom with a claw again, scraping her but doing little damage.
1 point of damage. It's dying but still gets to fight you. I love reefclaws. The fire is out above you by now.

Everybody:
Hi guys. It seems like I've found my way into the top 32. This is me. You'll understand if I don't post for a few days, eh?
I will also be busy cheering for my good buddy Neil Spicer who is in the top 32 as well!
Tarren the Dungeon Master
Wow small world huh?
Here's my item. =D
Wow! That's pretty cool. Congratulations. Neil Spicer and I have been in several PbPs over the last year too.
Tarren the Dungeon Master
Okay, I'm good to go until Tuesday. Where were we?
Situation Report: If I'm remembering it correctly, there are three of you (two still playing, it seems) not swimming in the pool (told you to stay out of the water). You can now clearly see that this arena is being overrun by zombies. Gunnom is swimming with the very nasty fish. It is a new round. Have I missed anything?
Tallis Kotellos
Lord Flash
Seeing Tallis and Ilil, hard at work beating each other up, Lord decides to let them go at it and defeat the victor of that fight. Instead, he takes his first good look at the undead monks entering the Arena and doesn't like what he sees.
He skirts the pool in the centre and moves towards the southern gate, pulling something from one of his bags.
Swift Action: Activate Dodge
Move Action: Move G10, G9, G8, G7, H7, I7, J7, K7.
Standard Action: Draw a Tanglefoot Bag.
Ms Gunnom
when you said the reefclaw looks spent, did you mean it's using a ferocity-like power wherein it gets one more attack before going unconcho? or, do I have to go ginsu on it again?
In case of ginsu: fullattack->flurry of blows w/kama (-1 with offhand #2 kama as MW is factored in) 1d20+6=20, 1d6+3=9, 1d20+6=16, 1d6+3=9 One hit for 9 not sure if the 15 hits and I'm no longer fighting defensively. If it's not moving then I'll attempt to climb out. climbe:1d20+7=22 . I'll put rp/position in when we figure out what's happening.

Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:Have I missed anything?Well, I'm still stuck down for another 4-5 turns, so those better be some slow zombies.
Tallis once again sends a flurry of blows at Ilil.
You could always try to break free ...
A creature that is glued to the floor (or unable to fly) can break free by making a DC 17 Strength check or by dealing 15 points of damage to the goo with a slashing weapon.
Ilil realizes that the zombies pose a greater threat than Tallis does, "Stop! Can't you see we've been tricked?"

Lord Flash sensibly turns his attention towards the greater threat. Zombies are beginning to fill the room and far outnumber the living.

They get to keep fighting until they are -10 then the get a death frenzy.
Ms. Gunnom's kama finally cracks the hard shell of the reefclaw. It spasms wildly, tearing at her flesh. 5 points of damage.

Forgot about that.
Tallis looks at Ilil, then the zombies, then back to Ilil. "You have a point." He then begins pulling at his legs with pure panic.
Strangth: 1d20+3=7
"Uh, a little help here?"

Nice touch with the blood in the water
Gunnom exclaims "Nasty fishy! You sushi!!"
flurry of blows with Kama:1d20+4=20, 1d6+3=4, 1d20+4=22, 1d6+3=9 the second attack actually being 21 as it's the non-MW variety Kama
after the threat of the reefclaw is ended, how deep is the water? If it's not to deep I'll search around for those +3 Holy/Undead bane nunchaku's otherwise I'll climb out. climb ck:1d20+7=21
Tallis Kotellos
"Ili, you go ahead and leave! I'll just stay here and get devoured by undead."

What +3 holy/undead bane nunchakus? ;-)
The pool is 20' deep but a quick swim around the bottom reveals nothing.
Which side do you climb out to?

"Ili, you go ahead and leave! I'll just stay here and get devoured by undead."
Strength, to be unstuck: 1d20+3=13
Ilil attempts to help Tallis but still can't get him unstuck. "What we need is a slashing weapon. That would cut this stuff. The rules said no slashing weapons. Did you bring one?"
Tarren the Dungeon Master
This may be it for most of you.
The zombies reach Tallis and Ilil first. Beat 17 initiative to get first attack. Ilil has an 18.
Other zombies gather around LJ and Lord Flash. Beat 6 initiative to get first attack.
The zombies have not reached Gunnom yet.
Ilil attacks with two quick swings of her Kama but only connects once. 6 hp damage to one zombie. NOTE: Ilil has 1 hp left.
Tallis Kotellos
Initiative, Attack, Damage: 1d20+6=17, 1d20+4=6, 1d6+3=8
"Just run!", says Tallis as he misses the zombie Ilil attacked.
EDIT: Hey, guess what! Tallis is shirtless, apparently. Really, go look at the pretty art.
Ms Gunnom
Gunnom tosses her non-Masterwork Kama (now devoid of padding) to Tallis
"Here! You cut sticky!"
It's 20 ft, not sure if that would be an attack roll of he just has to make a roll to catch it.
Gunnom then once again attempts to cross the plank to the center.
Acrobatics ck: 1d20+8=28
WOOT! if that makes it across then Gunnom will assume the Leaping Monkey pose and await the stenchy foes
Tallis Kotellos
I'm sure Flash will post soon. Still, if someone else doesn't post soon, should we continue the combat with most everyone NPC'd, or go with a Bolivian Army Ending?
Lord Flash
Whoops, somehow I missed this PbP when I was going through revisiting them all after some time away (too much work and then sickness). Sorry
As the horde approaches him, he prepares to offer up a fight. He grabs a last potion out of his bag and quickly quaffs it down before the Zombies are upon him.
Invisible Castle seems to be down, so I'm just gonna roll the old fashioned way. Hope you don't mind.
Initiative. (1d20+3) 12 + 3 = 15
Swift Action: Activate Dodge
Move Action: Draw Potion Potion of Shield
Standard Action: Drink Potion of Shield
+4 AC makes it 23.
Lasts for 1 minute = 10 Rounds

Tallis watches in horror as three zombies tear Ilil apart as she tries to defend him. Ripping flesh from bone mindlessly, they forget about Tallis for a moment.
Gunnom, I'm not sure what rules we need for throwing a weapon. I guess, make a ranged attack roll AC 10 to get it in his square. No penalty for improvised weapon as you aren't trying to hit him with it.
Tallis, if she misses AC 10, grabbing it from another square may be possible but difficult seeing you're all gooey.
Gunnom skirts to the island in the center leaving LJ lying helplessly unconscious.
Three zombies attack Lord Flash but, even without his potion, he would have avoided their slow, awkward swings. Although torn and moldy monk robes hang in tatters off of their frames, their attacks show that their training has not survived their deaths.

I have Throw Anything feat ;) Thrown Kama: 1d20+6=14
Gunnom notices the unconcious form of the halfling for the first time.
"Oh! Little man hurt? He cute!"
I know I'm going to regret this. It Dc 20 to jump (with no running start) 10 ft ...I have a+8 acrobatics, but for every 10ft over base movement it's +4 (on acro cks to jump) giving me a +12 to jump.....Acrobatics Ck to leap to I7: 1d20+12=25
Gunnom leaps over to the side and tries to make it to the fallen halfling before the horde.
not sure how much movement I would have left after the leap it's 30 ft and my move is 40 or if that's considered a standard action, then I'd have full move left, in either case I'll move as far I can to stand over Jakie in the hopes that next turn I can collect him up and somehow make a stand with the others
Tallis Kotellos
Please be merciful and don't make me roll to catch it.
Tallis sends a flurry of blows at the undead with the kama, but he is simply too hindered by the goo.
1d20+1=7, 1d6+3=7, 1d20+1=11, 1d6+3=6
Also, if I'm thinking right, this is my last turn of Tanglefoot Bag effectiveness!

She got it close enough. No roll needed to catch it. Yes, let's let that be the last round of tanglefoot bag effectiveness.

Lord Flash lashes out at the nearest Zombies with his newly freed Kama, ignoring the Zombies going for Jackie.
