Now that casters cast 0-level spells as many times per day as they life, might it be a good idea to let the Gnome do the same with his racial spell-likes?

Just so no one has to look it up, those are dancing lights, ghost sound, prestidigitation, and speak with animals. In particular, speak with animals feels lame as a racial trait if you can't do it whenever. Good call, I think this is the right thing to do.

I personally have house ruled it to work that way for a long time. So I whole heatedly agree that gnome racial spells should be usable at will.

Liberty's Edge

I like this idea. I second the motion.

Wizards still have only limited 0-levels. Also druids and clerics i think, but im not entirely sure.

But other than that the whole idea sounds reasonable.

Yeah, but they can pick them every day. Not that they won't almost always pick Detect Magic, Read Magic, Light, and Mage Hand, but still.

Perhaps getting all 4 is a bit much, though, with this change. Maybe they should have to pick two?

Slightly off topic but I thought Detect Magic at will was a little powerful for a wizard, etc.

Why not. I do think that the number of spell-likes should be reduced, though. Maybe just prestidigitation and speak with animals.
