Typed bonuses

General Discussion (Prerelease)

Dark Archive

(I'm sorry, I know this isn't about ability scores and so on, but it's a design issue and I'm not sure where else to post this).

Can I ask the designers to provide a table somewhere clarifying what "type" every bonus is so we know what stacks and what doesn't.

I'm nervous about the "if it's not specified, it's untyped" rule, since it could have been not specified in error (i.e. by omission). For example, what is the +2 Stonecutting bonus, is it racial or untyped? Ditto keen senses. What about the +1 attack bonus for Hatred - untyped, or morale?

Could you also make it clear whether such things as bonuses to speed, damage (particularly energy damage) and so on have types and what their types are.

OR - forget the whole typed bonus thing altogether, which I sometimes wonder whether is worth the book-keeping nightmare that it produces.

Cheers

Richard

As I understand it, Pathfinder used the same types as 3.5.

You can check this table, which explains the types that stacks versus the types that don't stack.

As for Stonecunning, I used unnamed (untyped)
The Halfling Keen-Senses states is it a racial bonus... (yet the Half-Elf don't specify a bonus...)

Yeah this is indeed confusing!
