Looking for players for a fantasy pbp using BESM 3. Let me know if you are interested. Yes Snobi and CF I know you want to play.

Do you still have any interest in doing this? I just got BESM and would be interested in this.

Dark Archive

I would be, if anyone else is interested.

Hey, are you still recruting for this?

Dark Archive

I would still be willing to run it, if we could get a small group of aout 4 to 6 players together.

Dark Archive

You allowing Bleach, Dragon Ball and Naruto Type characters? If yes then I'm in.

Edit: I have BESM 3rd edition by Arthaus.

I have the 3e rulebook as well. So, 4-6 players? I'll see if I can find anybody.

Actually my tastes tend to run more towards Nadesico, Outlaw Star, Slayers, and Lodoss War. I like the Naruto manga, but have a serious dislike of Bleach and Dragonball.

Okay what did Dragonball do you that made you dislike it?

Darn I had to sell off a few games to clear some space and a friend bought my copy of BESM... do you mind if I let him know about this thread?

Slayers, I recall buying a BESM book on the Slayers... Lina Inverse is a popular character in DOTA, btw.

I found the stories exceptionally cheesy and the artwork was not to my liking. I had similar problems with Trigun. The artwork was so bad, in my opinion, as to make it unwatchable.

Edit: Please tell your friend about this thread.

Dark Archive

What power level are you thinking of?

Spoiler:
I'm thinking of a shadow warrior who has walked the length and breadth of time and space to find a way of resurrecting his one true love... who died by his own hands, when he was compelled to choose between love and duty. Long years of loneliness extinguished the flame of loyalty and duty and he broke his oath of fealty to his own lord to seek his own happiness. The Lord's kingdom collapsed absent his strong arm to help enforce the Lord's decrees.

Today, the shadow warrior survives on the strength of his will alone... his quest unfinished.

Dark Archive

I will have to dig my BESM book out again, my wife stuck it in storage, but I'm thinking about 250 points.

Lantern Lodge

I would be interested in joining up as well, if you have the room

Dark Archive

Should be fine.

So, looks like we have 3, or maybe, just maybe, four players. For good measure, I'll see if I can get one more.

Dark Archive

250 points is fine. Now how to make the most of it?

For David

Spoiler:
Thinking of calling my character: Sundered Heart Or Darth Nasty.

Dark Archive

Radeval

Spoiler:
Sundered Heart would fit in better with the idea I'm formulating in my mind.

Are there any specific things you want us to keep in mind during character creation- guidelines, restrictions, things like that?

Dark Archive

Just want to give you guys an idea of what I am thinking for a basis of the campaign. It will help you come up with sutible character.

Spoiler:
The Kingdom of Karnakis has been at peace for a century. Before that they were almost destroried by the Demon Prince and his minions. However, a brave band of adventurers managed to trap the Demon Prince and seal him away in a magical prison. Five magical keys were used to seal the lock and trap the Demon Prince. Then they were hidden away in five seperate places to keep the fiend trapped forever.

Now, someone is stealing the keys. Four keys have already been stolen and the elders of Karnakis have gathered the decendents of the original adventurers to aid them. They have given these new adventurers two chages, one to guard the final key, and two to find out who has stolen the other four. With all five keys, who ever has been stealing them could free the Demon Prince and rain down terror onto the world. It is up to this new band of heroes to solve the mystery. The fate of the world is, literally, in their hands.

I think my previous post should have alot of what you want to know included in it. Fantasy races and templates are the best, but if you want to use something else, and can convince me that you can make it work, I might be open to the idea. However, I must warn you that I would be more open to a mecha pilot or a living robot in a fantasy campaign then I would be a battle maid, for example.

Alright, so I'm thinking of a half-demon who has taken an interest to hunting his own kind- out of choice, for the pleasure and the challenge that it brings him. However, though just a tad bit sardonic, and maybe a bit of an outcast, he realizes the need to surround himself with other beings, otherwise he might fall into that black abyss that so many people, man and monster alike, fall into. As such, he is often seen socializing in markets and taverns, but he never really makes any long lasting friends this way, and even with all his efforts, he is distrusted in most places that he visits, as he just has this -aura- of unearthliness around him.

The Exchange

I'm still interested if there's room. My character is speck-sized. He's 1 millimeter tall and weighs 1 milligram. Hope that's okay.

Dark Archive

As much fun as this sounds, I would have to say no. I've never been a big fan of pixie characters.

The Exchange

No problem. For headcount purposes, I won't be playing.

Scarab Sages

I'm interested, if you're still up for it.
Though, I've not done a 'proper' pbp before.
How will this one work?

Cheers! :D

Dark Archive

Usually a obo works very similar to a tabletop game, except there is no table. You post a message on the game thread explaining your actions and interacting with the other players. I am not strict about using die rollers, usually the universe has a way of taking care of people who make up their die rolls. I would like to see about one post a week. That is about how often I will be posting. Any other questions, let me know.

Dark Archive

The campaign discussion thread is here. Those of you who are going to play should pop in, start getting to know each other, and start posting your characters. Good luck ;)

Scarab Sages

I need to ask. Is this still going ahead? How many points and what "genre" are you using for skill points? Are there any limitations? How many players are we now?

Cheers! :D

Dark Archive

Right now we are only at one player, so if we don't get more it will not be going forward. We are using 250 points and just using the cross genre skill point cost. I discussed limitations earlier in the thread.

Willing to join havent played BESM before but read throught 3ed rules, and are eager to try it out.

Do i just post a char over at the game thread or is this projected canned?
