While looking at the runes of the drow houses and demon lords on the inside of the front-/backcover, I noticed that there are as many drow houses as demon lords present. I know that there are probably more drow houses and demon lords in Golarion, but I asked myself, if each house is tied to one of the demon lords. It would be cool if someone could shine a light on this...
And where can we expect a detailed article about Golarions drow? Will it be in the Darklands book or will there be an article on drow and their culture in an upcoming Second Darkness issue?

Good eye!
The drow pantheon does indeed have 12 demon lords. And the drow themselves do indeed have 12 primary houses. Each house is allied with a different demon lord; you can tell which one by the placement on the charts. House Azrinae, for example, serves Abraxas, while House Caldrana serves Flauros. Furthermore, the six inner houses are the six most powerful houses, while the six exterior ones are the lesser houses.
There'll be a bit of information about the drow in "Into the Darklands," but the best place to get drow information will be in Pathfinder.
Pathfinder 15 will have a "Drow of Golarion" article by Jeff Grubb; this one talks about drow society and crafts and psychology and all that, and presents two prestige classes (designed by Sean K Reynolds, Greg A. Vaughan, Wes Schneider, and me).
Pathfinder 16 will have an "Abominations of the Drow" article; this article talks about fleshwarping and driders and stuff like that.
Pathfinder 18 will have a "Demon Lords of Golarion" article (written by me) that'll talk about not just the 12 demon lords the drow worship, but another 16 or so that have other interests in the world.
That, and the adventures themselves will have a LOT of info about drow.

Wow, James, that looks like a lot of drow goodness coming our way in the future! Woohoo! I can't wait for these issues to arrive (especially the Demon Lords of Golarion article). You said that the twelve mentioned drow houses are the primary drow houses. What exactly does this mean? Are there other drow houses besides these at all? Are there former houses or exiled houses or stuff like this? And how exactly does a drow house form? I'd guess that family ties won't play a role in the formation of a house. And does a band of drow gets recognized as a house when they win the favor of a demon lord or is it the other way around?

I started my Pathfinder AP subscription with Second Darkness, and the runes were the first thing I looked at, and couldn't help but be awestruck. I love drow-goodness like the next guy, but this first chapter of the AP is simply amazing, it blew me away. I cannot wait to see what's next! I must say, everyone who worked on this should be applauded!

Twelve primary drow houses means that those are the twelve big-time houses. There's certainly other minor houses here and there, but in the drow cities, those 12 are the ones you'll be seeing. There aren't exiled houses. And any "former" houses are synonymous with "extinct" houses. Family ties do play a role in the formation of a house, though. Drow are pretty fecund, as far as elves go. A house makes its own name, and a new house that becomes a primary house can't do so without a demon patron.

Can we expect the organization and behaviour of the houses to follow the personality/edicts of their associated demon lords?

Can it be said, how many drow cities do exist at all? And, as there seems to be at least more than one, do the major houses have "branches" (sorry, lacking a better word) in other cities? Do conflicts between houses spread over several drow cities or are the houses limited to just one city (maybe with minor influences on the politics of others through proxies)?

There's at least one BIG city. There's probably at least three smaller ones, and a lot of tiny little enclaves.
The 12 major house all have "brances" in the big city and the three smaller ones. The enclaves themselves each have one house in charge of them. Conflicts between houses generally don't carry over into other cities though.
