Ranger Combat Style Feats Question

I hope I'm in the right forum; I can't seem to find this anywhere else. My group is switching over to PF(beta), and I am creating a ranger. I notice on the Combat Style feats, for archery there is listed a "Careful Taregeting" and a "Exact Targeting" feat, but there is no description. Am I missing these? If not, there is a small error here...

You are correct - these have 'disappeared' in the Beta.

I reported this in this thread.

Until this is fixed, I have assumed the feats are missing in the Beta - If you need the original text from the Alpha version, I'll be glad to provide it - Just let me know via email as I don't see a paging system on these boards (and might miss your reply). My email is admin at theonlysheet.com

Thanks; that's kind of what I figured. I'll go over the Alpha info with our DM and see if he'll allow it.

The general assumption that I have seen is that these feats are gone, and were replaced with Improved Precise Shot - as the prereq's for Pinpoint Targeting were changed from those two feats to Precise and Improved Precise Shot.

Sort of leaves the Archery Ranger one feat short however, since they already have Precise Shot (and did in the Alpha too). I plan to allow Deadly Aim as an option.

That's how I'm doing it too. Does anyone have any insight regarding how this is handled in the final release?

Not much I'm afraid.

Here's Harsk's feats at 11th level:
Deadly Aim, Endurance, Improved Critical (light crossbow) [BAB +8 in Beta], Improved Precise Shot [BAB +11 in Beta], Iron Will, Pinpoint Targeting [BAB +16 in Beta], Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Rapid Reload, Rapid Shot.

If Pinpoint Targeting's prereq hasn't changed (and no oversights), then Harsk took it as a bonus feat, and thus didn't need the prerequisites. In Beta Archery style gets the option at 11th level, but get a feat at 10th and 14th - a rather annoying issue.

In final release "Careful Targeting" and "Exact Targeting" are also listed as Rager feat options but not explained in the feats section. Not mentioned in the errata either. What gives?

Suprising and (for a Ranger fan like myself) frustrating. Especially Concidering the fair amount of discussion of this problem in the boards well before the final release. What accounts for such sloppy editing? When will this be fixed? How can I get access to the discriptions in the alpha release? Why doesn't Paizo post the missing feats on this site until the rule book can be corrected?

That's something of a Pathfinder rules hallmark, I'm afraid -- vague language used by the designer, and lack of technical-writing editing to follow up. Mostly I think it's symptomatic of the rush to get all the rules out on time, because the adventures generally are quite well edited. Still, it spurs endless pleas for clarification.
