So, when I was playing in the Realms, I really liked the Harpers. And I always thought a great idea for a product would be a Harper Pin, which as anyone who knows the Realms will tell you, is the symbol of the Harpers. Getting to have an actual physical thing to give to players would have been great.
Anyway, this moves me on quite nicely to Pathfinders. It would appear that the symbol of the Pathfinders is the Wayfinder (as shown in the Campaign Setting). So, I think actually having a physical Wayfinder would be a nice product to sell. I know I'd get one!

Seconded...my friend and I were also discussing FACTION pins (lapel style) for The Pathfinder Society, which I would rather, since I can pin it to whatever I'm wearing and represent.
Cheers

I think you guys are confused. Uzzy is talking about a fictional organization in the Forgotten Realms that gave it's members a pin (of a Harp.) Other Harpers knew eachother by the pin, bad guys knew the Harpers by the pin. And powerful figures knew the Harpers by the pin.
Think of the US Marshal's badge in the old west, the blue tabard of the Musketeers, heck.. the lightsaber of the jedi.
It's an item characters (PC and NPC a like) to identify themselves as members of the organization. Not something for super geeks to wear around in public and get strange looks.

You think? Okay, well the idea has evolved into something else. I still have this money burning a hole in my pocket; and I only want to give it to Paizo. :)

Faction pins would rock. I loved the White Wolf Clan pins!
An actual Wayfinder, particularly one that worked as a compass, would probably be pretty darn pricey. And it could come with a slot for an Ioun stone (sold seperately in an assortment of colors and shapes, conveniently die-sized...)!
Not a Compass you shroom. An Astrolabe. (Looks like a watch with no moving pieces).

It definitely sounded like something to buy since the thread is called "Product Idea" and Uzzy says "having a physical Wayfinder would be a nice product to sell. I know I'd get one!"
Sounded like Uzzy was saying he wished Paizo would make wayfinders so we could buy them.
A harrow dek is something for PCs and NPCs to use, but Paizo made those to sell.
Regardless of what Uzzy meant, I still think a wayfinder as a product would be cool, and I'd probably get one.

*does double take*
I swear that Product idea wasn't there before!
Uzzy are you messing with me? :P

Not only do they need to market a precision instrument like an Astrolabe (configured for Golarion), but an Armilliary (a "Globe" indiccating the motion of stars and planets in relation to the homeworld)...
- An Astrolabe - the ultimate wayfinder/no moving parts
- An Armillary - a globe of the universe
- An Almanac of annual Pathfinder Society events so non-pathfinder society gamers can go in and scrounge through the ruins a year later.
- An Atlas of the Golarian World to the smallest convenient scale.125 miles = 12.5cm
- A Flintlock Kolben - note to self: must continue design work

Ooh! An armillary would be so awesome.
This kind of stuff reminds me of those scale model Spelljammer ship mockups that TSR made and showed off at GenCon that I'd seriously consider donating a kidney to own...

Somewhere I've got a design for a stempunkesque, geocentric, orrery-sundial which, among other things, worked as a mobile sundial (also at night) by virtue of the "Sun" being a light source. I really must find (i) the plans for it and (ii) the time to build it.
A wayfinder would be nice, but I'd definitely go for the Ioun stones -- so long as they actully float round my head :)

I wish! I never saw those in the TSR offices so they are probably in somebody's collection.
