Watermark weirdness

Cosmo,

I had Staples print out a copy of the Pathfinder Campaign setting while waiting for my shipped version. When it printed, the watermark was nowhere to be found.

I checked the PDF and it's there, but not on the final.

Is it just weirdness, or could Staples have stripped it off?

It's 'cuz we're just awesome like that. :)

Thanks,

Spoiler:
Ok... actually, I'm kinda stumped. Gary suggests three possibilities:

  • 1) the watermark could be outside the printable area for that printer
  • 2) there could be a preflight filter that removes type below a certain size, or of a particular color

    or

  • 3) Matthew Morris is a filthy dirt¥ stinky scheming pirate and is lying in public to cover his filthy piratey tracks with plausible piratish deniability

(Yes, he was kidding about #3) ;)

    Ok, thanks.

    Spoiler:
And I'll ignore 3, because I'm a gentleman and the binding on my hardcover hasn't broke yet.
