Enzor's spell puts the two, dull-minded kobolds to sleep (in 16 and 17). Mercy's attack misses, and the three remaining kobolds fly into a rage. One lunges at Mercy, another Bodan, and the third Hranos. The first two miss, but the third catches Hranos in the leg. Bodan's kick quickly dispatches the kobold in front of her, leaving one by Hranos and one by Mercy. Hranos cannot return the blow from the kobold.

Mercy: 13
Kobolds: 10
Bodan: 8
Hranos: 7

That Hranos was still standing boded well for the group. Desi would not have to worry about any grevious wounds to treat unless there was a significant change in the pace of battle, though she could not help glancing over her shoulder for something else to befall them. Without any armor and a weapon, she dare not put herself into harm's way, certainly not as skilled as Bo-Dan, and likely a bit more fragile. Unwilling to just stand around while others fought, she looked around for rocks or something that she could throw, all the while hoping that noone got seriously hurt.
Enzor
Very sorry for taking so long, so i'll make it brief.
Enzor makes a few gestures as he focuses on a bit of leather. He says something incomprehensible as he touches Bo-dan. An invisible forcefield shapes into armour around her.
Mage Armour.
After that, Enzor backs up, out of harms way, into the mouth of the cave.

Mercy aims two blows at the nearest awake kobold, missing with the first as she shrugs off the last of the blanket she had wrapped around her arm, but connecting solidly with the second (Natural 20 -1 for two-weapon penalty, did not confirm crit unless their AC is 11).
Main hand = 9, off hand = 19 possible crit (1d20-1=9, 1d20-1=19)

Enzor casts the spell, and steps back from danger, as Mercy rushes forward. She drops the kobold stupid enough to mess with her. Dessy scouts out for injuries in the background, and the remaining two kobolds attack. squeal in fear, and both rush back for the whole in the cave.
AoO for Bodan and Hranos
NPC Hranos
Hranos grunts as he lunges at the kobold trying to weasel its way out of a sticky situation.

He misses, and as the kobold retreats he can only yell, "Get back here you little rat!"

"I'm not sure. Either they came through this cave and set up camp inside the crack, or that crack leads to another entrance."
Mercy will hold the torch near the crack again, but this time concentrating on the flame itself, not what it illuminates. She will check the intensity and direction of the flame to try and determine if there is any airflow through the crack that might suggest another point of egress.
Myrsandrys of the Snows
"I believe that the little creatures have found the only way into this crevice," Mercy says. "There are no drafts batting the flame of this torch, which means there are no air currents to suggest another entrance. We can wait them out, and doubtless have little trouble with them, as long as they have no more numbers than we've already seen. Or we can simply set up camp and keep a watchful eye for them, departing in the morning and giving their cave back to them. But if either of us is to claim this cave uncontested, then we'll either have to flush them out and drive them off, or leave of our own accord and leave the cave to them. What say the rest of you?"

As soon as the kobolds have retreated, Desidera is by Hranos' side, to examine his wounds despite any claims that he is alright. Unless forcibly pushed away, there was no chance that he was going to go unexamined. Still, she was polite in her insistence, looking at him with a slight smile, understanding that she might be making him uncomfortable by doing this. "I have heard stories of some of the other races tipping their weapons with things that are not directly poisonous, but are capable of causing infection if not looked at." Mercy and Bo-Dan would get looked at as well, but since they professed no injury, she would not press them as much.
A look outside tried to gauge the amount of time that they had before the storm hit, because if they were corralled in with hostile beings, she at least wanted to have some sort of healing assistance on hand. "I still wish to go and try to gather some medicinal herbs", she said softly, looking to their default leader Mercy. "Is there still time before the storm?" Bo-Dan received a longer look, Desi still turning her response around in her head to the questions she had asked before they were attacked.

Bo-dan
Just as calm after the fight as she was before it, Bo-dan sits in a meditative position and says "We obviously need the rest, and this seems the only likely shelter from the storm. If we keep a sufficient guard on the entrances, perhaps even blocking them, we should be able to rest undisturbed. These creatures merely seem to be defending their home, so I am not inclined to ferret them out and destroy them. If they attack us no further I am content to leave them be."
With that she closes her eyes and begins a series of meditations. She is completely awake and aware however and will respond to any comments directed to her.
Before she closes her eyes, Desi notices a quick glance in her direction from the Monk, as if to say 'I have not forgotten what we shared, have you?'
[ooc] And honestly I can't recall if Bo-Dan was injured or not...it seems like a Long time ago :P {/ooc]
NPC Hranos
Hranos glances up at Bodan as she speaks these words. "I agree. I recall a time when I had to defend my home, also. I think that we should leave them in peace, but still fend off any attack." He feels bad about the outburst he had earlier, as he thinks of that kobold's life before they had disturbed it.
"Anyway, we need to set up camp. I suggest we use the front part of the cave, with a guard at the passage back here. We don't need to worry about protecting the front of the cave, obviously." He says, looking out at the downpour.
Myrsandrys of the Snows
"We should keep at least two people awake at any given time, one to watch the front entrance - the rain could still drive others to this shelter - and one to watch the rear entrance and be alert for the little creatures we fought earlier. At no time should Desi and Enzor be the only persons awake, either - there should always be at least one person with an able blade - or kick (looking at Bo-dan) - awake, should we have need of quick defense.
"That would mean that Hranos, Bo-dan and I should each maintain a separate watch, with one of us sharing the watch with Desi and one with Enzor. One of us will have to double up a watch, and since my people need less sleep than humans, that should be me. So I will volunteer to take the first watch, perhaps with Enzor?" With a wry smile, she adds, "And I am sure Bo-dan and Desi would not object to sharing the second watch. Then I could share the third watch with Hranos.
"Unless anyone has other suggestions."
Desidera Tahn
Desi is quite content to leaving the guarding to those that are used to guarding. She was used to being within or nearby the confines of civilization, with something occupying her time. As a result, this was entirely new ground for her, and if she were to be entirely honest with herself, she was very uncomfortable. However, it was not something that she was going to be dwelling on, immersing herself in what she had to do right now, rather than thinking about what was and was not. If fortune favored her, she would have enough time to do some foraging, and they would be out of this situation in a very short time.
So as Mercy explains the plan, Desi keeps casting glances outside, at the darkening sky and the trees beyond, trying not to feel very small in this world by focusing on tasks that need to be accomplished. Sitting still too long would not be of any help to her peace of mind.
