Paladin Divine Bond Ability

We have been playing the Alpha and will be switching to the Beta. It does not look like the Paladin Divine Bond ability has changed between releases but I still have some questions and suggestions.

The first type, enhancing a weapon has caused some confusion for the player of the paladin. As the GM, I have ruled that the abilities granted to the weapon should use the same enhancement bonus equavalents as weapon abilities for item creation. Assuming that is true, it would be helpful to actually state this and include a table with the costs of the abilities rather than having to go to the magic item section to determine the values. For example:

+1 enhancement bonus, defending, flaming, keen or merciful
+2 enhancement bonus, axiomatic, disruption, flaming burst or holy
+3 enhancement bonus or speed
+4 enhancement bonus or brilliant energy
+5 enhancement bonus
+6 enhancement bonus

It is also not clear how long this ability lasts. Is it 1 minute per paladin level per use?

Do I seem to have the correct take on this ability?

Yes, although you could certainly have the holy and keen abilities (for example) instead of just a +3 enhancement bonus or the speed ability.

I believe it would have to be a +1 Holy Keen sword instead of a +4 due to the requirement of a +1 to already be on the sword.

From my reading, you can change a +1 sword into a +1 holy, keen sword; or a +1 speed sword; or a +3 sword (since the +1 and +3 don't stack).

I understand that you can mix and match abilities. I was suggesting a chart to list the cost of the abilities under the Divine Bond description.

I would imagine if you follow the Weapon Enchantment rules as a guideline, you could add enhancement bonuses. If the paladin had a +4 bounus they could make a normal sword into a +1 Keen Holy sword. If the sword was +1 already it could be +2 Keen Holy Sword.
