Hey all, I need some advice. My current campaign will be heading back to a smallish city soon after a wilderness/dungeon adventure, but I don't really have the time to create some new material. I was hoping some helpful people could point me in the direction of good city adventures for a mid-level (6-7) party.
I was originally planning on running Nick Logue's Chimes at Midnight (with some modifications), and had even set up some events for it: introducing the main villain etc. though the PCs don't know he is a villain as yet. But I'm just not sure it will fit my city easily since it was designed to run in Sharn, with lighting rails, etc., not a smallish city.
If anyone has any suggestions from various sources (old 2nd ed. Dungeons are fine too as I collected most of the way through #60) I'd appreciate it.
And thanks in advance. :)

No, not a city. I'm looking for city adventures in the level range I specified that have been successful for other DMs. I have a whole bunch of back issues of Dungeon, etc. but I haven't waded through them in a long while. I was hoping some helpful people could point me in the direction of some of the better ones.

Unfortunately, most of the published adventures that I have run are either pretty specific to a setting or circumstance (Sharn adventures or things like the City of Istivin series) or in the wilderness or isolated situation.
The City of Istivin series could be fun but would have to be scaled down a bit. (117, 118, 119)
The Hall of Harsh reflections was fun and could probably work in most city scenarios with a little work even though it was Age of Worms.
You could run any number of the Challenge of Champions stuff.
That's about all I have off the top of my head -- unless you want to look at Curse of the Crimson Throne...

There was a great adventure in Dungeon, where a doppelganger was turning the staff at a "doctor's office" into vegepygmies. It was an older issue that used 2e rules...
Hopefully, someone else with a better working knowledge of Dungeon Adventures can provide the name and issue number of this adventure (and the PC levels required)...

Could you be thinking of "The Menacing Malady", by Chris Perkins (Dungeon #58)?

HoHR is the one with ** spoiler omitted ** correct?
Correct. But the BBEG at the end was a lot of fun for our group as well.
And...
I told one of my players well in advance that I would "replace" his character with a doppleganger. We had lunch often anyway and he played it very well -- gave the group just enough to wonder but not enough to clue them in. When the group came into the room that was full of their characters, they were very confused for quite a while. they still talk about that adventure quite a bit.
