Well, I can tell you it wasn't their intent. They are the nicest bunch I have ever had the privilige to do business with. Funny how no one complains as they miss an issue during the 6 month cycle. I didn't see people lining up congratulating them for saving them money on product they failed to deliver on time either. 6 adventures over a period of 6 months, that is what they strived for. If they have 4 during the first 5 months and two at the end, I guess they produced 6 in 6 months.

But yea, I understand that the next AP starting is unwanted by those feeling the financial crunch. I don't think they sleezily sent something to get the money in the bank (as the ENworld guy posted). I believe that having these items for GenCon was their intention (as they burned the midnight oil to get it).

Cheers,
Zuxius

Just in case anyone wants to look at James Jacobs' response in that thread, it's here.

that is the second time I seen James mention about losing his Job if things got off schedule..

Things must have been a bit Hectic.

I'm continually astonished at the volume of product the Paizo staff generates. I hope things go stellar for them now they are back on track.

I am not going to rabidly defend Paizo, but I do have a few comments..

The original post on EnWorld was six days ago.

It was the problem of one individual, who received a professional reply from the company representative.

There is a reasonably good explanation of why it happened. Apologies were made nevertheless, and an offer of help.

The individual offered a solution in order to correct the situation (a refund for Issue #13).

I guess my point is why are we having *this* thread? Why is someone else's problem that was posted over at En World being re-posted over here, a week later?

The original poster of *this* thread says he shares the same opinion of the situation- then fine.. fair enough...

But why not make a new post on these boards, explaining the problem from the OP's own point of view (rather than pointing to someone else's complaint from a week ago posted on another board).

Or better yet, why not post to customer service, or simply telephone them? Talk it over with, and see if the OP can come to an accomodation for themselves?

I guess what sort of frustrates me about these threads is that they seem less about someone getting some help with a problem, and more about creating some drama and maybe the "Paizo Soundbite of the Day".

I mean.. is the intent to be 'Righteous' or to 'Get the Problem Fixed'?

There are plenty of things a person can choose to complain about with regards to any company they do business with it seems. That said, Paizo's customer service is the best I have experienced with any company in any industry. If the OP on that original thread was upset he got two issues of Pathfinder in the same shipment, then he could have easily resolved it here with a post, a call to their customer service, or via email. He recieved a warning email a week a head of time just like the rest of us. His ridiculous accusation that Paizo is somehow shady is silly beyond belief. If he doesn't like the AP line, fine. If he is upset that Pathfinder chose to support the OGL instead of 4e, fine. But attacking their customer service to vent is pathetic. Paizo's treatment of their customers is nothing short of top rate in all facets. Every time I have seen a customer post with a problem, they take care of it very quickly.

The truely sad part of it, is the OP in that thread posted his drivel without even trying to contact Paizo to see if they would fix his problem. He has no credibility at all in my mind.

Probably because the OP of this thread was just too lazy to make his own point.

I agree with you though that both threads are silly on the OP's part. A simple phone call to Customer Service would suffice. Perhaps it was done for bating purposes. Perhaps they're just people who thrive on complaining about really silly issues that are well, non issues. You know the type that bite the head off of the waitress because it's taken her like 2 extra minutes just to bring the drinks to the table. Not at all considering the fact that she may have like 6 or 7 other tables besides theirs. Perhaps they are just out for freebies. I've known people like that. Complaining to a company just to get credits, refunds, free merchandise, discounts etc. Heck I even know of a couple of people with extreme examples of this personality trait. They find reasons to be disgruntled customers and sue these companies. That's literally how they make their living. Must be because they don't have jobs and sit at home all day ordering stuff on the internet or QVC.

Anyways it's their own dang fault. They had plenty of warning via Email from Paizo that this was going to be happening. I mean I got an Email a full week before they shipped. They can't tell me that they didn't get that same Email.

I do like how awesome a guy James is for staying professional, explaining Paizo's situation and offering the guy a solution. Not the actions of a "Shady" representative from a "Shady" company. OK so I did a bit of defending. Not that Paizo needs someone like me to defend them. I originally was just offering up possible explanations for both threads.

Watcher is absolutely right. I am also not interested in reading threads that are started just because something gets posted at wotc, or EnWorld, or wherever. Please, be part of the PAIZO community, and as such, please realize we're all capable of getting our news at these other sources, without the dramatic spin!
