Looking for one or two more players for a Realms AoW PBP

As I've lost some players I'm here to bolster numbers for my '[G1]Age of Worms consumes the Realms' play by post. Posting has slowed a little due to various reasons but will hopefully be picking up again.

So far the group is only a short way into the Whispering Cairn so you'll be joining in near(ish) the beginning and I'm happy to work with you for ways to work your character in. Characters we currently have are:

A halfling rogue, a human sorceress, a human paladin of freedom & a human bard. Their exploits so far can be read here.

Obviously they're hoping for a healer so a cleric would be ideal. Or, if you'd prefer I'm happy to give the 'spontaneous healer' feat for free to a druid so they can spont heals as a cleric does.

Discussion thread can be nosied at here the first post of which has my character creation outlines.

Any takers?

I've never played a pbp and am very curious. I'd love to join if you'd have me. Heck, cleric's one of my favorite classes anyway. Let me know and I'll throw out a character concept to you.

It'd be great to have you Alric :) Just so you know the gods worshipped currently in the party are Lliira, the Lady of Joy by the paladin, Lathandar by the sorceress, Chauntea by the bard and Tymora by the rogue - so that's what you're working with on the religious side of things.

Is exstentive knowledge of the realms required? I know most of the names of the characters from the novels but not much more about the realms.

If that is not a problem, I would love to join the game.

I have been thinking about an elf fighter/wizard type that I would like to play that seems like it could fit in well with the party.

Extensive knowledge of the realms really isn't required as I will be making tweaks here and there to make the adventure path fit. Besides, your caracter may not know much about the realms, just the local area they've probably not explored much of faerun yet ;)

Cool, so I have a couple of questions regarding character stuff.

1) Can I use the elf paragon class from UA?
2) Eventually (like around 10th level) the characer would go into the arcane archer PRC from the DMG. If that is okay.

Kayos, hope you don’t mind a slight threadjack. I’m running an AoW pbp here too, and I just checked out a few random samplings of your Group 1 game thread. I noticed that

Actually, I think there are three of us running AoW pbps here at the moments, all in the fairly early stages of Whispering Cairn. I wonder if its worth starting a thread for the three of us to compare notes on converting the game to be play by post friendly and such?

That actually sounds like a great idea :) I'm still a bit of a novice with DMing, both tabletop & PBP so having others to compare notes with would be great :)

I have one character in the works and am waiting on Alric for his concept, so currently I'm full but keep an eye on the thread as if Alric decides against joining in the PBP fun the group will need a healer.

Or of course you could head over to the discussion thread and if you get along with the other players I could stretch to 7 and squeeze you in..

That does indeed suck :( When your internet usage is more reliable don't hesitate to pop by the discussion thread and I can squeeze you in as a seventh then if you'd like :)

Looks good, if you want to head over to the discussion thread there's a spoiler for the other new character, if you want to read that as it has a suggested tie to the existing party that'd also work for Tyrion.

Hey I don't want to step on anyones toes here, but I was just looking at Tyrion the Druid and it seemed like he had an awful lot of skill points. 48 skill points, by my math (Druid = 4 + 3(int) + 2(bonus) x4 = 36) is about 12 extra skill points even counting the bonus skill points you gave out for knowledge/craft/profession.

Hehe i know what you mean! Since the skill points were spent on the extra crafting and knowledge skills it was too big a deal to make the change. I'll be the first to say something if I make a mistake. It's all about having fun right?
