Wizard specilisation - no bonus to casting??

We did a little play test last night and our wizard player noticed that for most of the specialisations, there is no advantage to the wizard to cast spells of their specialised school....maybe the wizard could have spell focus in their school, or something similiar.

Otherwise you could be an Illusionist for the illusionist special power and then not take any illusionist spells to cast, weird and takes away from the flavour of the class.

That isn't any different from 3.5. You had to prepare school spells in your specialization slots, but you didn't get any bonus on casting them. You had a better chance on spellcraft checks to learn spells from your school, but there were no other benefits.

The best solution: Don't do it.
