hear, hear. there is absolutely no reason any discussion, whether it be politics, religion, 4e, or any other controversial topic shouldn't be civil.

I've learned my lesson. No politics with strangers, even on the internet. No 4th edition with strangers on the internet, either. I am as guilty as anybody of voicing my opinion of the Way Things Should Be, but I've realized the futility of it. You have your opinion, I have mine; odds are that those opinions will not change. I have gotten something from opinions of posters here and I have learned some things, but when it's no longer about that (learning from each other's opinions and strengthening/refining our perspectives) there's no point. I don't like ideological shouting matches; they don't do a thing for me.
I'd rather talk about Dungeons and Dragons.
Don’t be too hard on them; they are mentally ill. Internet induced schizophrenia, brought upon by a lack of visual queues to the frontal lobe, and therefore, diminished capacity for empathy. Pitiable, really.
