My group liked the Combat Maneuver Bonus in playtesting and I would definitely vote to keep the notion, but I came across an idea that speeds up play slightly. Because CMB checks are now done against static numbers, rather than as opposed rolls, I found it slightly faster to precalculate this static number by adding the +15 to the CMB ahead of time and calling it CMB Defense or simply Combat Maneuver Defense (CMD) that must be beaten for the combat maneuver to work. It is a minor thing, but it does remove one calculation step during combat, thus speeding it up a little and I feel that every little bit helps when it comes to faster combat and removing the calculation burden from the DM so that he can track other stuff.
