Sykala |

Tarren and Ixius:
"I follow. You see what left," pointing at the tarp. Sykala feeling confident in her ability to outpace him in the jungle runs into it chasing him while whistling for her wolf to follow her. Trying to either cut him off or follow his trail.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Sykala:
Once Petrune leaves the clearing--which was lit by the moon and fire--he pauses and mumbles a spell. A light begins to glow in his hand.
Petrune is moving quite quickly through the jungle. What is your speed in thick foliage?
Ixius:
Once you make your way close enough, you see three Ekujae corpses spread out on the tarp.
Baas:
You hit the jungle.
Fippin:
Fippin sees Sykala and Ixius chase someone. Sykala follows the person into the jungle. On the other side, Baas is shooting arrows at a glimmer of light in the jungle.

Sykala |

Tarren:
Woodland Stride (Ex): Starting at 2nd level, a druid may
move through any sort of undergrowth (such as natural
thorns, briars, overgrown areas, and similar terrain) at her
normal speed and without taking damage or suffering any
other impairment. Thorns, briars, and overgrown areas
that have been magically manipulated to impede motion,
however, still affect her.

Fippin |

Sorry I'm away from home right now, so postings a bit tricky, but Fippin will let his true striked arrow sail to the spot where Baas is firing. Then he casts levitate and drops down to the ground. After that he casts expeditious retreat and starts trying to catch up with Sykala and Ix.

Fippin's arrow finds its mark despite the darkness and dense jungle. For the first time since the attack started, the stream of arrows falters. It takes a few seconds before the men with the buckets realize the Ekujae have stopped firing. A few see Fippin on the roof and cheer before he disappears. They then continue with the bucket brigade and try to stop the fire from spreading.

Baas. |

Can Baas see Sykala chasing Petrune?
Perception: 1d20+8=10
If he can:
Baas runs as fast as he can in an attempt to intercept Petrune. Move 120' towards Petrune.
Otherwise:
Baas, seeing the fire quickly becoming a more significant danger now that the Ekujae have stopped firing, helps the workers with the bucket brigade.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Baas is on the wrong side of the compound to see Sykala chasing Petrune.
Ixius, as I understand, you have stopped and are not pursuing Sykala.
Fippin, you mentioned that you would help Sykala and Ixius. You will catch up to Ixius soon enough. Sykala is off in the jungle and all you can see is a bit of light flashing as it bobs and weaves amongst the trees.
Sykala, make a perception check.

Keliwyn of Korvosa |

I almost forgot what it's like to function with sleep deprivation, but am working to catch up.
[/b] She scratches her head and it suddenly dawns on her with the wiff of brimstone she catches, "Is from Hells. Devils write like this."
I like that. It reminds me of a great quote: "The devil sat betwixt two lawyers, and declared, "Virtue in the middle."

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Baas & Keliwyn:
The men glance at you for no more than a second and make room for you in the bucket chain. They are throwing water through the slats and dousing the grains within. You have a feeling that you will be eating pooridge for breakfast, lunch, and dinner tomorrow.
Sykala:

Sykala |

Tarren:
Sykala seeing the ambush takes out a gourd and throws it at the ground next to Petrune (if he is within 20' feet of the Ekujae she gets them too). The ensuing thunderclap should hopefully help guide her companions if they are persuing and make it difficult for her enemies to communicate she thinks to herself. She then step behind a nearby tree for cover from the inevitable volley of return fire.
To hit with thunderstone: (as bad as that roll is it should hit if she is throwing up to 60' feet) 1d20+5=8 DC 15 Fortitude save if anyone is in it. Sheesh IC has turned on me recently.
Wolf attack if needed: 1d20+5=20, 1d6+3=5

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Tarren:
Spoiler:
Is my wolf still around? It lasts 5 rounds. If it is she is going to send it barreling into the closest enemy unless Petrune is in range (than she'll send it into him). It can move 50' feet as a full move (I assume it's movement is halved and it cannot charge through dense undergrowth - otherwise it could move 100' feet).Sykala seeing the ambush takes out a gourd and throws it at the ground next to Petrune (if he is within 20' feet of the Ekujae she gets them too). Sykala:
The wolf should still be around for another round after this one. To get to Petrune would give attacks of opportunity to the others.
The wolf attacks one of the Ekujae as Sykala throws a thunderstone to the point where they intended to ambush her. All of the Ekujae and the wolf are startled by the blast.
One of the Ekujae recovers enough to aim an arrow at Sykala but he does not aim well and it flies to the left.
Petrune decides to stop playing cat and mouse and sends a pea sized ball of flame in your direction. DC 16 or take full damage from his fireball.

Sykala |

Tarren:
Reflex save: 1d20+3=5
Realizing that she may have bit off more than she can chew she puts up an obscuring mist and moves directly away back toward Ixius. The wolf attacks the Ekujae (with the previously rolled attack - it'll disappear at the beginning of her next action).

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Fippin and Ixius:
Just as Fippin catches up to Ixius and sees the bodies of three Ekujae laying on a tarp at the clearing's edge, a ball of flame flashes briefly in the jungle.
Sykala:
31 hp of damage. The fireball blast catches the three Ekujae that had prepared to ambush you unawares as well. None of them survive.

Keliwyn of Korvosa |

"Pas air!"* Keliwyn exclaims as head snaps around to the direction of the thunderclap. "Baas!" he yells, already on the move, "Let's go!"
Translation:
Keliwyn bogeys to the other side of the clearing, toward the sound, as fast as possible. At a 4x run, that gives him 120'/round, so I'm guessing three rounds, right?

Sykala |

The still smoldering Sykala stops as she comes face to face with the others the smell of burnt hair, leather, and leaves is almost overwhelming, "<cough><cough> He cause big fire. <cough> Very bad. He this way. We catch. Not far." She turns to lead them back to where he is following his light. "He very fast. Not quiet. Step like elephant. Need light, so easy see." Hopefully a little healthier due to Fip's soothing touch.

Baas. |

Did Baas follow?
That he did!
As soon as he heard the thunder, Baas dropped his bucket and began running, suspecting trouble ahead. He draws his earthbreaker as he runs.

Upon hearing this, Baas simply nods and moves ahead of the group, heading in the direction Sykala indicates.

Keliwyn takes in Sykala's appearance and asks, "What happened?" As he hears the reply he takes in the rest of the scene, including the bodies on the tarp. "Fippin, help her," he says, as he looks around for any guards. When Baas heads in to the woods, he grabs Fippin and Ixius and says, "If it was Petrune, he may try to make it back to the house, so someone should stay between the woods and the house. While you all handle him, I'm going to have a look at his room." With that, Keliwyn turns and heads for the big house.
Trying to balance speed and stealth, Keliwyn heads for Petrune's quarters. Once there, he'll pick the lock, if necessary, and have a look around.

Sykala |

Sykala leads the group back toward Petrune periodically pausing to listen, "Like bull elephant...."
She is trying to hear Petrune suspecting he is savvy enough to try and mislead them with the light.
Listen: 1d20+12=29

Baas. |

The bobbing light heads quickly Northwest for a bit and then blinks out. If you have followed it, you are now deeper into the jungle than you were before, about 90' from the clearing.
Baas stops and looks around for signs of trouble.

You know, that's a tough choice. I was originally thinking his living quarters, so let's go with that.

Keliwyn heads toward the Station House. I'll update you but I want to avoid time differences creating confusion.
