Spell-like ability for Universal School Wizards

Combat & Magic

Not sure if Limited wish for 14th level and Wish for 18th level generalist wizards is a great idea. The part about no verbal, somatic, or material component just ups this a little too good for me.

Sounds like a daily inherent ability increase on the cheap. (Which could be the reason they have it a +1 for a -1 in another ability to balance this out.)

Of course healing all physical damage to me and 17 friends for a standard action is nice too.

I'm torn on the Wish/Limited Wish issue.

On the one hand- You want your mage to be powerful at exceptional levels. The new caps put on the spells make them alot less easily abuseable than the 3.5 editions. (note the text on creating normal and enchanted items is missing from the new verions).

Also, it takes Wishes cast in "immediate succession" in order to get ability scores past +1. This means that even with the daily use of Wish the best you could get is +1 to 3 scores and -1 to 3 scores. Hardly unbalancing. (though certainly better than nothing).

The question becomes:
Is it unbalancing for an 18th level wizard to, for free, once a day, do One of the following?

Move an ability score
Heal the party of any one effect
Heal the party of all HP damage
Transport the party to wherever from wherever.
Cast any one wiz/sorc spell 8th level or lower
Cast any other spell 6th level or lower
Or any one other "DM Arbitrated request".
Revive the Dead
Undo Misfortune

The ability score thing really isn't an issue. It Is a bonus, but hardly game breaking given that it really just lets you shift +1 around.

Healing any one effect is really just a mass heal effect on the party. Again, not terribly game breaking. Useful, for sure though.

Heal the party of all HP damage. This one can actually be better
than a mass heal spell, depending on the HP levels of the party. Some High con fighter/barbarian types can actually have HP scores in excess of the ability of Heal to heal. At 18th level Mass heal is maxed at 180, with an upper cap of 250 (25th level). This means that after 25th level the Wish 1/day actually becomes better than Mass Heal flat out. (at least, as long as you can do the wish for free.)

Transportation is really not an issue at this point and Wish can only do non-planar transport.

Revive the Dead:
Not usually the forte of arcane casters, this allows them to bring someone back from the dead, with the usual 1 level penalty. Hardly game breaking for sure, but odd to be on the list. (though it does provide a way to res the cleric, should they die in an inconvenient locale)

Undo Misfortune:
Most Redo's are limited to things that the user himself did but this one can change the rolls of others. You can try to get someone else to crit, or to block their crit, or to try and force a failed save. This ability while not over powered with the 25,000 GP cost, can quickly become so. In fact I can easily see it becoming the 1/day ability for Wizards. (since so many of the other thigns can be readily duplicated with other spells and other classes).

Any one of these abilities for the Wizard 18 would probably be sufficient as a 1/day ability- especially that last one, but given the choice between them it really does seem to be "too good". If a combat day goes by with the Wizard not usnig his daily wish, he probably hasn't been paying attention. While I like the idea of it, in practice I have to agree that it really does seem entirely too powerful.
Maybe make it 1/week? or 1/month? Or 1/never? Change the spell to something else?
