I'm starting to buy and paint minis for the AP, and would like to hear from those of you out there who do the same.
Generic single charater minis are, to me, fairly easy - use a rogue for Graeden, female bard for Trina or necromancer for Rolth. Give someone a unique costume, like Jolistina or Laori, then its a little harder.
For minions like Hell Knights or Korvosan Guards, the challenge is to find three or four similar-looking minis in different poses. You can find skeletons or zombies in multi-packs through several suppliers.

I don't know much about the metal minis, but if you're also willing to play with some WOTC plastic minis there are some the fit.
Both of these require some painting and possibly slight moding to make them work... there are more, but I'm not sure what they are of the top of my head.
Edit: I've also thought about modding/painting some of Black Manta Heroclix for red mantis
Here is a DC Heroclix that might work for the Red Mantis.
H.I.V.E. Trooper 001 Rookie DC Heroclix Collateral Damage
Though it is an older miniature so it might be hard to find. Of course you might need to repaint and remove the gun (or make it into a crossbow or something).
A Skull Warder #034 Mage Knight Pyramid, might work for a leukodaemon.

Your HeroClix suggestions got me to thinking about modifying my own collection.
Harley Quinn would make a good Jolistina after you remove the bomb in her hand and replace it with a skull.
The non-flying Parademon would also make a good alternative to the Red Mantis fig.
