I don't think that the swashbuckler is limited to the fighter. Bards, Rogues, and a few of the other classes all fit the Swashbuckler style of play. Heck I would sponsor the idea of a Swashbuckler Monk, but it rings to heavily of Jackie Chan (Drunken Master, anyone?)
I think you "can" still play a swashbuckler fighter, but I don't think the class needs any changes to make it work.

Actually, the solution is they just need to get Jump (a STR-based skill) OUT of Acrobatics (a DEX-based skill)
Sorry, but it makes more sense to me for the rogue to have to burn some of his generous supply of skill points to be able to jump well, than to put the burden on the fighter. Several threads have beat this one silly, and I'm not the only one who thinks that jump was the odd-man out in this skill consolidation.

Agreed lots with Brian and Todd.
Really short paragraph of summary from the many other threads on this issue: Jump in accrobatics is a bit odd, but there is no reason to give the generic, iconic fighter the rest of the abilities in it. The cross class penalty has been beaten to death and is no longer an issue; there is nothing preventing them from doing this if they wanted to. Fighters could probably use a couple more skill points, but they certainly don't need any more class skills.

I agree with you, they need acrobatics. It only makes sense that with the changing of iconic fighter types that now includes a dexterous fighter, that this generalist sort of class also have acrobatics. The swashbuckler was too similar to the fighter, but at the same time the class idea was more of a PrC, so I say again, let this supposedly very general class cover a PrC role.
Go-ahead and give it to them, please.
